Yeah that's pretty accurate. You can't really rule on something like a product if said product is actually already something illegal.
It's like take this for instance

A company makes childrens sex dolls, sells sex dolls, someone copies them, takes them to court. Court has to rule on the obviously grey area of it being a child doll.

Should be thrown out and arrested both parties on beastiality

Isn't there some legal thing about how if some fetish or art is viewed as horrific and immoral by the average person, it can be made illegal? I think it only occurred in criminal cases such as when someone was prosecuted for possessing lolicon pornography, but hopefully some prosecutor sees this and decides its worth pursuing

Obscenity, it is usually measured if something is obscene with the Miller test (which is very very hard to prove, and the only guy to getprosrcuted with it regarding to lolicon was actively importing lolicon hentai from Japan), I'm not a law fag so I can't give an opinion if animal dildos count as obscene but iirc zoophiliac pornography is legal in (unfortunately) most states.

Also obscenity simply means it's unprotected by the First Amendment, so even if it is obscene, it isn't necessarily illegal unless there's a specific law outlawing it. It just means it can be outlawed without violating at least the First Amendment.

Taobao is literally full of dragon dildos. For Western export, Nothosaur etc. clone every dragon dildo under the sun.

Etsy is also full of Chinese knockoffs.
