This was tried extensively from the 50's/60's through the 80's. None of it seemed to make much of an impact on recidivism rates. There's lots of guys who fuck up and go to prison once and never break the law again. But they're not even close to the majority. People call my proposal 'Drench the Prisons in Napalm' proposal insane, but I think it's practical.

I believe it. He’s got a tweet somewhere out there from the blue check days where he mentions telling someone irl at the bar that he was verified, if I’m not mistaken. In the service industry there’s always certain customers trying to tell you how important they are, as if you should be flattered to have encountered them. I bet he’s randomly offered autographs to confused strangers who are like “I don’t even know you”

He’s definitely arrogant enough to tip with a signed copy of one of his shit books.

He probably did have some mild dementia during his presidency the onset of symptoms usually precedes diagnosis by around a decade, and he was diagnosed in 1994, but as you can imagine with such a long time lag the symptoms are very very minor so it really wouldn't matter until late in his term.

I used to have a real love/hate relationship with some of our regulars. Someone like Pat is the kind of customer that would try to have a one sided conversation with you while you are trying to take orders on a bust night on the weekend. That is always irritating. And they'll tell you the same fucking jokes and stories again and again. You'll want to punt him into the street.

But then, when it's a Tuesday, the place is dead, you can always count on some drunk like Pat, who at least means some meager tips for a couple hours, while he wastes his life in a bar.
