I'd argue Austin is probably losing more than would be expected by the house odds. If he only played random games, then he would be right on the curve. The problem is that he occasionally plays skill games (blackjack) and uses provenly bad betting strategies. He would probably improve his odds by 3%-6% if he bothered to google a blackjack chart and play by it.

I'm tempted to buy him a paperback copy of Knock-Out Blackjack, but I know he would probably rip it up for rolling papers.
 
Hes been losing it all a lot for a while but we have reached the stage of gambling where the 10k, 20k wins do nothing for him and hes numb to the big wins. He loses 20k and feels nothing because he needs more dopamine than that. Remember gamblers get more dopamine chasing and before winning than the win itself.
