We can only hope. Sometimes, it seems like the social justice movement is slowing down. Maybe I'm wrong. Everyday I wish it would implode and go away. Calling it tiresome feels like an understatement at this point.

Yes and no. Public support is drastically falling, but in turn, the policy makers and influencers are doubling down. They see the tides shifting and are desperately trying to solidify their positions of power before it's too late. They're acting like cornered animals and will do more harm than good until their public influence is dissolved.

It's a buzzkill movement. Every time I see someone trying to demonstrate "trans joy" or the new social rules I remain unconvinced that anyone is even a fraction as happy as me just taking everything in stride an being myself. They are miserable people and whoever said these are the new Victorians hit the nail on the head.

Good point. That makes sense. The Powers That Be need to broken before any real change can happen. It's still comforting to know the public is turning against wokeness.

I'm not sure if we'll ever go back to "normal". Come to think of it, when was the last time things were normal? This shit really came onto the mainstream in 2014 but it was festering under the surface for at least a few years before.

The thinking behind this bullshit is that Cheddar Man lacked the alleles (SLC24A5 and SLC45A2) that do most of the heavy lifting wrt skin color in Europeans and therefore he must have looked like the blackest gorilla nigger straight from the Congo.
Nevermind there are other genes that regulate skin color and the only other Eurasian groups that are really dark skinned being Melanesians and Ancient Ancestral South Indians, Cheddar Man being "merely" as swarty as Siberians or Southeast Asians would ruin the ICE AGE YUROP WAS JUS LIKE BLACK PIPO N SHIEEET-narrative.

Celebrities that claim to be trans of some stripe always seem to smirk in photos; they never seem to smile much.

Seems like they found a thing that makes them feel something different, and because they're so maladjusted, they mistake that for feeling good.

Or they planted it themselves. It's incredibly stupid at any rate. Most times stolen bikes aren't being used by the thief for transportation, they just quickly re-sell it or strip it down and sell the parts, both for pennies on the dollar, to get cash to get high. Their "happiness" is gone in a few hours (if even that) once the buzz wears off, and the cycle continues.

A lot of the arguments also came down to “well, we don’t know he was white either so therefore he’s black and if you disagree with us on this, you are a racist.” Once the chuds got dunked on, this all went away and I don’t think anyone remembers. If the reveal happened a couple years later, we would’ve found out he was a tranny too. There was a period of time in the mid 2010s where people liked to use the ambiguity of ancient societies and peoples to fit their narrative. Everyone was black, lived under a matriarchy, took psychedelics and fucked nonstop in polyamorous societies.

I agree that circa 2014 is when the current zeitgeist really solidified in Western society, although it’s obviously been festering for quite some time now.

If you look back to some of the films of the late ‘90s there is a definite proto-woke thing going on. Over in the Nick Rekieta thread there has been a lot of discussion of “American Beauty” a film that won 5 Oscars when it came out and has some proto-woke stuff in it. As an example, the film has a character who is a violent, paranoid, gun-loving homophobe who ends up being a closeted gay man (probably popularizing that trope) and kills the main character after he reveals that to him.

Another example that even the lefties of Cumtown couldn’t help but rip on is “A Time to Kill”:
Fun Fact about that movie: the book it was based on was based on a real case except the races were reversed (White victims, Black assailants, whereas in the book/movie it was Black victims, White assailants).

Obviously, you can find woke elements dating back to the ‘60s and earlier too.

Read up on Norah Vincent (yeah, I know the source; fuck off, it's a good overview), a butch lezzie journalist. She published a book in 2006, Self Made Man, detailing her 18-month experiment living as a man. (No, she wasn't a pooner; she set out to check on all of that male privilege she'd heard about. Turns out she found that men's lives are really rough, and that they have it really hard. She said she preferred female privilege, thank you very much.)

The 18 months living a life of deception and all the contradictions of her earlier programming that uncovered themselves took a toll on her mental state. She ultimately checked herself into a lock-down psych hospital in Switzerland, finally availing herself of assisted suicide in 2022.

Interesting factoid: As a woman, she was very much a butch dyke. But when she dressed up as a man, people thought of her as a rather effeminate gay lol
