There would be no reason for either of them to have a tranny "fifth column" going that early on. Farran was still on good terms with Nick, and I don't recall when Cynthia entered the picture. Regardless of when she did, I'm pretty sure Cynthia was in Locals thotting it up with the rest of them around the time Mandy started posting those catfish pictures and getting Nick to drool all over them though. Brilliant post but I'll admit to being confused by one thing. In the EXIF it says there is a focal length of 2.5mm, but you then recalculate it to 0.3mm. Why take the angle as wrote but not the focal length? It doesn't change the math much, 110mm instead of 13mm, but I doubt the Nokia is capable of macro focus at 13mm. 110mm seems a reasonable bottom end of focus for a potato phone.

I tried to look up this phone, and different sources disagree on whether it has a single, 8 MP rear-facing camera, or dual 8 MP/2 MP rear cameras. There are clear pictures of versions with both setups. The 160 degree FOV suggests the image was taken with a secondary ultra-wide camera, possibly the 2 MP model. GSM Arena says the 2 MP camera isn't AF, which jibes with the EXIF reporting hyperfocal distance, rather than focusing distance, as it normally would with an AF camera. Of course, it's worth noting that EXIF data can just be plain wrong, I've seen it many times, especially with zoom lenses. Ultimately, though, I 100% agree that it's a picture of a monitor screen. That much was blatantly obvious just by looking at it.
tl;dr: the focal length calculation in the OP might disagree with the EXIF reported focal length because OP assumes the original image was 8 MP, when it could have been taken with a 2 MP secondary camera. Still a picture of a monitor, though.

I think you're right. There's a secondary camera which I assumed was the selfie camera. If these numbers are used, then both the focal length of 2.5mm and the hyperfocal distance of 120mm which places the subject around 60mm (bit over 2 inches) in front of the sensor makes sense.

The results are the same, the camera is shoved right up to the subject. Since MAN♂y decided to downscale and upscale photos "she" stole from a reddit user and add in noise artefacts, I'm willing to claim "she" intentionally caused defocus and downscaled to make it appear acceptable to the human eye. This is the 1) definition of CoC, at 4k resolution, "her" monitor closeup will be nasty.

Note that the smaller CoC is, the more acceptable to the human eye the print will be.
If we assume 1) above, this means the confusion spot was 10 times larger than typical, ie the image was totally out of focus.
Why does it appear to be alright? Simple, "she" downscaled the 3264x2448px image to 334x250, around 10x.
Times that 0.025 by 1/10 and there, you get 0.0025, a far more acceptable (smaller) spot for the human eye.
