The fun thing about Pat is that he's so interactive. Every person who says something to him gets a response, it might take him a few days, but he's working off a backlog of Patposters. Thankfully Pats work ethic for childing stalkers is far more solid than his actual "job" which he seems to have given up on entirely at this point in favor of "correcTing the record" so you'll always get a response eventually.

When Null was talking about the formation of Something Awful, he mentioned that one of the better decisions made by Lowtax was to ban L33T speak. I’m old enough to remember how fucking faggoty it was but more importantly more widespread and I don’t view this new online language to be much different. People who say “This ain’t it chief,” end or start every contentious sentence with “my dude” or just reply to basic shit with “Sus” are just as gay and low IQ.

I was never a SA user and only ever saw people use 3r337 speak on IRC, always ironically. If a user invokes that shit earnestly you should just ban them without warning, same as “my dude” and the 85% of Pat’s tryhard vocabulary. One of my favorite forums in the 1990s made it an instantly bannable offense to use “um” or variants (e.g. the British “er”). That was before “eh” became a thing but that should get a person banned too.

On the topic of Starship Troopers, i’m not surprised that Pat can’t see it as being apolitical or just an exploration of ideas.
