I believe he was “childing” that attorney for telling him - correctly - that posting and commenting on the police report wherein his sister-in-law testified that he threatened to murder his then-pregnant soon-to-be ex-wife and the man who had cuckolded him was neither defamatory nor criminal and mocking him for his legal blundering, including the recent attempt to get a restraining order against our boyo in MA for the “crime” of attending a proceeding in open court.

There's no doubt now that Patposting is mainstream in the publishing industry. Once people in that space realise that Pat is no longer protected by his politics, I wonder if any stories will emerge from them? We've already heard rumblings about Pat being a complete cunt at conventions, we might get specifics in due course. And, of course, given that Pat is an outspoken male feminist known for his "Alpha Male" pretensions and having many friends who are convicted sex offenders, I wonder if a #metoo isn't too far away for Patso? He wouldn't be able to Stalker Child his way out of that one.

Oh and by the way, I am declaring that October is Pat-tober for my posts, and every post I make in this thread this month will end with "enjoy prison" as my own tribute to the man who made this thread my favourite one on the farms. Anyone who feels like it is welcome to join in.

You're supposed to brush it with egg wash and he just burned it. Would wager he put it at a higher temperature figuring it would get it done more quickly but you just can't rush some things. Like when you put Mozzarella on your pizza instead of a less sensitive cheese you're setting a timer for your other ingredients or that shit will just burn. Cooking is fairly easy, you throw shit in pot and heat for however long you like and it will just be done assuming it's more than like half an hour but baking requires planning and forethought, not things Fat Rick is well known for.

I read Brian Keene's "Rising" series and later "Conqueror Worms" when I was in my early teens and iirc I thought it was hot garbage - however it was successful hot garbage and written in an engaging and visceral enough way to make me want to read to the end - the book equivalent of a properly executed b-movie.

Looking at his Bibliography, Keene appears to be successful in his field with 4 or so dozen books published consistently over the last 25 years (so about 2 a year) and has worked in some capacity as a writer on big fiction brands like "X-Files", "Hellboy", "Alien" and "Doctor Who".

Brian Keene stating Pat has become persona non grata and a laughing stock in his community has to sting, even for someone with as much padding as Fatrick. Career-wise, Keene has achieved pretty much everything Tomlinson wishes he had.

It's better to make B-movie grade books and be wildly successful than make shit and earn nothing. The fact he has some big IP'S to his name tells a lot about his success. Piggy has never gotten that phone call from a publisher because he's a stick of dynamite

If you're unfortunate enough to be in a job where your income depends on the output of creative people, then reliable, untroublesome mediocrity beats mercurial genius, every time. Nickelback will make you more money than Tool. Michael Bay will make you more money than Lars von Trier. Thomas Kinkade will make you more money than Francis Bacon. People in the upper tier of the creative industries (record companies, movie studios, publishers) want steady output and no scandal, they don't care whether the product has any artistic merit so long as it sells.

If you're going to be mediocre, then be reliable, be prolific and don't be a problem. You can make a really good living with the right work ethic and people skills even if you kinda suck at your job (this applies to more than just the creative industries, but it applies particularly to them).

Pat has the mediocrity in the bag, sadly for him he barely has any output, he has the interpersonal skills of a rabid gibbon, he could start a fight in an empty room and chaos follows him wherever he goes. No doubt he's always stewing over the fact that other mediocre talents (of course he thinks he's way better than mediocre, whereas he struggles to even reach that level) have better careers than him, but he'll never learn that he is the cause of that problem.

If you have a book series, social media should be advertising. That's it. That is why pat's career is dead. He could still be unstable, but companies would still work with him because he isn't a fire hazard

this is absolutely true and it's more relevant now than ever. on the shxitter, a lot of artists (coomers, typically) are getting called out with increasing frequency for having taken commissions and failing to complete them, even keeping people in the dark for up to a year (or more). it's turning into a full-on kerfuffle as a bunch of disrespectful pricks make it crystal clear to potential clients they can't be trusted to be professional. then you have video game mod drama. there was a funny bit of Terraria mod drama in the Happenings thread a while back, but i was filled in on something more recent from RimWorld a couple days ago. there's an automated drill mod which is desirable because you don't have to staff it with a pawn. it has a core feature where it draws power all the time but won't do its job if something is blocking any of the 8 spaces around it, but that might be a core feature of the game, not sure. but when someone asked the mod maker for some clarity on what he considered a bug, the mod author got nasty with him and bitched him out because he couldn't read his mind.

patrick is the worst kind of creative type you can encounter, which is another reason i find him endlessly entertaining. his abnormal, repulsive behavior ensures he will never manage to achieve the faintest relevance; he's the village idiot in every writer demesne - and how could he not be? have you seen how fucking fat the guy is? only he can occupy so much space at once.
