A person wearing camouflage pants in public left a British Columbia man outraged last week.

So much so that the 27-year-old Trail resident called police to complain and said he was “offended on behalf of the military” as he believed civilians were not allowed to wear those kinds of pants.

According to the Trail and Greater District RCMP, an officer received a phone call Friday afternoon about the garment. The man requested that the officer find the man and remove his pants.

Police say the officer informed the man that the removal of someone’s pants would be illegal even if they were camouflaged.

The caller told the officer he would remove the man’s pants himself “under order of King of England.”

The officer replied that forcefully removing the man’s pants would constitute an assault and dissuaded him from taking action.

“Our officers did look for the man reportedly wearing the camouflage pants downtown but unsurprising couldn’t find him,” Sgt. Mike Wicentowich said in a release.

"...requested that the officer find the man and remove his pants."

Well what else do leaf police have to do but indulge randos' fetishes

They'd have to arrest like 4/5ths of the visible lesbians around here, they still wear the camo pants, leather vest uniform from the 90s.

Sir, help is on the way. Just stay where you are and listen to the nice people in white coats.

I genuinely don't understand how being offended works for most people.

If some guy said "FUCK YOU, YOU STUPID FUCKING CUNT" to my face, yeah I'd be pretty offended. Probably call him a cunt back, but I'd move on with my day.

If some guy walked past me wearing camo, I'd think "man, that's a nice pattern". Double points if it's my favorite camo. (Frogskin camo used by Marines in WW2. Pic rel incase you care for some reason.)

People just find any reason they can to complain about shit that doesn't affect them. Especially if it's the most innocuous, pointless shit like the colors of someone's fucking pants.

If I thought his pants looked like shit, I'd think "his pants are pretty fuckin' ugly", and move on with my life, not call the cops lmao.

Someone tell him they use camo in hunting too.

Or maybe I'm just dumb and they really did storm Normandy's beaches in Walmart camo pattern cargo shorts.

Because you're either not a cunt so you think that's a shit of an insult and rather laugh at it or you're proudly one so you just take it as a badge. Like when people call me a bitch and I'm like "yeah, duh".

Also, like you say, you move on with your day. Most of us don't have time to be offended because we have to worry about other stuff. Lazy people without real problems have empty heads. They spend the day thinking of the offense they received because they have no other things to think and worry about.

There is also how they aren't really "offended". They are reminded of something they don't like about themselves, something they'd rather not think about and you just remind them of it. Do you really think that all those fat positivity whales are really happy with how they look?

Sad that the cops showed up and actually looked for the man in camo pants.

They should have told the nut on the phone it is legal and not all that unusual to wear camo and if he touched the camo pant wearer he would be guilty of assault.

Instead they humored his delusions and he will probably call the cops the next time he sees someone wearing a T shirt for a band he doesn't like.

Some asshole is wearing a Taylor Swift T-shirt. That must be a crime somewhere, right? (Other than in my dreams lol).

What I don't get is he's "offended on behalf of the military". Why is he deciding what's offensive to the military? He's a civvie, and I personally doubt he's ever been in any form of military if he thinks wearing camo is a crime (pretty sure it is in some places, but definitely not Canada).

And tbh, I don't think most soldiers would give a shit if some guy's walking down the street with MIXPAT cargo pants. They'd probably be like "hey man, were you in the army too?". They're not gonna be say shit like "I WATCHED MY BEST FUCKIN' BUDS DIE IN IRAN, AND YOU'RE DISRESPECTING THEM BY WEARING THE SAME CAMO AS THEM!!!"

There’s no way that this was a real member of the public who was offended and not a pervert deliberately calling this in whilst standing outside the station wearing top to toe camo and a hard-on.

Haven't worn camouflage since retiring from active duty nearly 25 years ago. Don't give a fuck if anyone else wears camo. The fuckwagon in Canada bitching about the camo sounds mighty fucked in the head.

What a moron. Especially for a place like trail which has plenty of hunters around

Apparently he's unaware that in BC specifically there was a huge camo clothing trend from the early 90s to like 2004. That shit was everywhere. I wonder what he thinks about army surplus stores selling stuff if he's so offended about random people wearing camo

and tbh I expected this to be some paranoid nutter calling the cops cause someone was wearing camo because they assumed it meant said person was about to go on a shooting spree. Somehow it managed to be someone doing it over something even stupider
