Wołyń is just one bit of Stepan Bandera's legacy. The paramilitary group he helped to create, UPA, basically wanted to created a fascist Ukrainian ethnostate, and to achieve that they've brutally murdered just about anyone who wasn't with them, including Ukrainians who didn't want to skin the enemies of Ukraine alive and all the other fun stuff that UPA was known for.

UPA were heavily inspired by national socialist thought of the NSDAP, and that also included the hatred towards the Jews. And yes, Bandera himself was a massive antisemite and his organization has also murdered Jews in Ukraine.

And the fun fact is that modern day Ukraine still praises Bandera, UPA and all the heinous acts that they've committed. Zelensky himself has praised Bandera and Ukrainians still see him as a national hero. But the propaganda tries it's best to clean his name, even though Bandera is essentially Hitler of Ukraine, with UPA being the NSDAP of Ukraine.

I believe Wołyń became a massive issue somewhere around 2014, possibly because Russian trolls decided to pull it out to cause a ruckus in Poland when it comes to supporting Ukraine. And if that were the case, they've definitely succeeded, since it's very not kosher to point out that Bandera was a fascist terrorist in Poland, as people will instantly jump to calling you out as a "footwrap" as that's what ukrophiles in Poland adopted instead of something like "vatnik" in reference to the apparent use of footwraps in the Russian army.

Usually people default to saying that you're a piece of shit for wiping your filthy mouth with the deaths of those people that were never a part of your family so you should never mention Wołyń when shittalking Ukraine, but it's a-okay to yap about Katyń when it comes to shittalking Russia, because that logic no longer applies there. Just one of many silly things a simple Polish mind does when faced with a crisis at which it can prove it's worth and heal it's national insecurities while simulatneously being bombarded with propaganda every single day. Ukrainians are as much the enemy of Poland as Russia is, and it's foolish to think otherwise.

So yeah, to just mention Wołyń when talking about Bandera isn't telling enough to how much of a piece of shit he was and how primitive modern day Ukrainians are for constantly praising him and his ideology.

I recommend reading up on all the creative methods UPA used when fulfilling their ethnic cleansing. Schutzstaffel's death camps seem humane in comparison to the shit Bandera's followers did.

Archival photos of his and UPAs/OUNs handiwork and witness statement and interrogation records are also out there and a Google search away for those curious enough and have a stomach for it. You can all see what it takes to be called a hero in modern Ukraine and have monuments erected to you and streets named after you.

It's not a terrible gun but if he wanted to carry a WW2-era relic, may as well get something appropriate for the region like a Tokarev.

I do want to see him run with that M14, let's see if he can make it 50 yards without collapsing. Also good luck finding an armorer who knows how to keep it running around those parts.
