All discussion of the candidates, updates and results should go here

For example- here's a video of Ted Cruz vying for world domination.

Also Hilary Clinton is a crook and nobody should have sex with her.

Discuss

(Note- The title will change as we get nearer the election, previous titles will be archived in the OP)

Trump has gone and said the enquirer is a newspaper we should all respect.

““All I did is point out the fact that on the cover of the National Enquirer there was a picture of him and crazy Lee Harvey Oswald having breakfast.” [...] This was a magazine that, in many respects, should be well respected,” Trump said. “I mean if that was The New York Times, they would have gotten Pulitzer Prizes for their reporting.

How is he the lesser of two evils at this point. How?!

Meanwhile, from the Clinton Camp, the most terminally dull man in existance, Tim Kaine, is the suspected VP nomination. A man you probably forgot existed again by the time you finish reading this post.

I still put Fallout IRL 2016-17 on the table, as a viable candidate, with Giant Meteor 2016 as my last resort option.

A thousand caps to the man or woman who brings Wes Bentley to my future colony in the Gulf Commonwealth alive. 500 for the one who brings me the severed head of Zack Snyder for his crimes against cinema. Positions in the colony can be reserved with similar offerings, just ask for Dr. Fuckface to get the list. Dissenters will be fed to alligator deathclaws.

...Fallout sperging aside and back on topic, the fact that the election could literally swing either way and that either way sounds absolutely horrible (though much as I dislike Hillary I can't survive another goddamn Republican president; I just can't; I'm too poor for this shit) is probably proof that we as a nation have failed horribly somewhere.

Giant Meteor just seems like an easy way out and does nothing to win me over like survivng a nuclear holocaust does, in comparison. At least we can start over proper if Fallout IRL happens, for those who survive it, of course.
I prever Sheev/Ani 2016 myself

Judging by Hillary's hawkishness and anti-Russian stance, I'm afraid Fallout IRL would be her successor. :c

You and I can agree on one thing: America can't survive another Republican presidency with the way things are, now, and how they're especially acting towards people who aren't rich...
... Too bad lizard lady Hillary!

A Trump presidency will be the best thing that could happen for poor people in this country.

Here's a gem from DWS

"Media narrative seems to be shifting in our favor today. I recommend we just avoid this topic unless it is brought up. Ive contacted Chuck and he said he wont be fielding questions on this. Im sure the the rest of MSNBC and CNN are planning on following suit. Avoid Megan and Joe. Chuck said they are fine, but I would prefer to not take any chances.

Nothing says resuscitate a dying campaign like picking Tim Kaine for your running mate!

Regarding the whole DNC email leak, is it any surprise they had contempt for Sanders? He isn't a democrat. He's done barely any fundraising for democratic downballots. From the point of view of the party machine and many if not most lifelong democrats, he was trying to hijack the party. No wonder they wanted to shut him down. It's shitty, but it's not surprising.

Fun fact about Peter Thiel, that techhead that came out as gay? He had a paper he posted an essay in a forum of the Cato Instittue that caused a bit of a stir... might be brought back to the headlines.

Most importantly, I no longer believe that freedom and democracy are compatible.

Trump's tax plan alone is going to cost 10 trillion dollars over a decade. Trump has not laid out any tangible plan that will help Americans and he has no fucking clue what he's talking about in trade. Bill Clinton signed NAFTA into law in 1993, but everyone seems to forget negotiations started under George H.W. Bush. The US is not highest in income taxes, considering the average percent has hovered at around 26%. Governor Scott had me laughing at the convention when he said our economy wasn't growing, despite the GPD increasing almost every financial quarter since 2009. Our labor participation rate is as low as it was in the 1970s, considering people have given up in looking for jobs, but also retiring and some students don't have time to work. Yes, we do have the highest corporate tax rates in the world at almost 40%, but when you factor in all the generous credits and deductions we give, a multi-billion dollar company might only pay 25% in taxes. Cutting taxes looks good on paper until you realize that you'd have to rewrite large parts of code that people use for things like child care deductions.
Also let us consider the fact their platform calls for turning Medicare and Medicaid into block grant schemes, pussyfoot around privatizing social security, and want to repeal Dodd-Frank, but insist they will reinstate Glass-Steagall, the law they voted to repeal along party lines. Give me a break. If you like Trump fine, but don't peddle this bullshit he's going to help us, especially with no plans on the table. At least Trump was honest in wanting to abandon NATO, the organization who actually helped us when we invoked Article 5 after 9/11.

It’s ironic that after decades of the left embracing identity politics (and making little meaningful social progress with them), that Trump is turning around and offering a new identity political group based on the woes of middle-class whites that feel that they have lost ground due to immigration and globalization, and takes on a more populist tone. The pearl-clutching coming from the political left at Trump using their own plan against themselves is hilarious.

Equally interesting has been the left’s tepid response to President Obama’s handling of the current tensions between police and BLM. Obama has frequently spoken out against SocJus tendencies to shout down their opposition, and he has criticized BLM’s lack of a coherent message and adversarial attitude. Unfortunately, the president’s calls for moderation have largely gone ignored in favor of outrage journalism that produces more clicks. The radical left has created their own boogeyman in Donald Trump’s candidacy, and will have no one to blame but themselves if he wins in November.

Similarly, Hillary Clinton represents the worst of the Wall Street left. She keeps the radicals around simply because they are useful to her as pawns. Much like the religious right came away as losers after eight years of George W. Bush, I don’t think the SocJus is going to make much advancement in Hillary Clinton’s administration, particularly if they continue to adhere to their failed platform of increasingly balkanized identity politics.

If by Governor Scott you mean the Florida governor Rick Scott (aka Governor Voldemort; aka him and his right-hand Bellatrix Pam Bondi are the only damn Republicans who are apparently kissing Trump's pasty orange ass); literally nothing that man says about economics should be taken seriously, as his money was made by defrauding the Medicare system down here.

...how he got elected not once, but TWICE in a state full of fucking old people as a result of that, is a goddamn mystery to us all.

I almost felt sorry for Pence, since he's going to be doing all the work if Trump wins. Then I remembered what a backwards arsehole he is.

I have to say - as much as it pains me - that Cruz earned some props for me for refusing to endorse Trump. That was epic.

Wouldn't be the first time a VP ran the executive off the back of a still living President. That worked out great...
