I actually thought about it and wondered if the kids were doing that stubborn kid thing where they say stuff like "Only boys can like dinosaurs." or "Blocks are for girls." because I've worked at an elementary school and that's just what preschoolers are like and they can get pretty snotty about it.
I'd like to hope that LaBill didn't get triggered by five year olds who wouldn't listen to him talk about gender and his girlcock and quit because of them but seeing his Facebook makes me wonder if I might be right. It would be funny at least.

The news article where she threw a hissy fit at Ecole Emilie Tremblay for not allowing her to give a talk on her book mentions she was a French teacher there. As in she actually TAUGHT independently and not as a teaching assistant. I'm gonna assume she was actually a teacher (unless someone can prove to me otherwise or I've missed something - chances are I probably have, so any evidence to prove she wasn't an actual teacher would be helpful).
The English translation of Labelle's deadname is "William". And he thinks that doesn't sound gendered.
Kinda related to your point, but in some parts of Scotland it's perfectly OK to call your child things like Williamina. I shit you not. It's especially common in the Gaelic speaking communities. Just tack "ina" onto the end of a male name (Angus, Ken, Iain etc) and you have a supposedly feminine version of the name. In my honest opinion it sounds silly.
Then there's the Germanic version of the name William, Wilhelm, which actually does have a female variant, Wilhelmina/Wilhelmine.
