I expect this is going to be about as successful as the Hogwart's Legacy boycott and will result in almost as much glorious salt. As with HL, I don't expect the New York Times to suddenly run a WE STAND WITH JK ROWLING: TRANS WOMEN ARE MEN headline anytime soon. But I can see the NYT dropping many of the complainants from their rolls the way they sent Sarah Jeong packing when she complained too loudly about the Times. And I could see trans issues getting pushed to the back burner as the Times editorial staff decides that it's time for a new Next Big Thing.

When you're going to get attacked by trannies no matter what you do, the safest course of action is to avoid talking about trannies altogether. Which is great when you're silencing prospective TERFs, but not so good when you wind up alienating formerly friendly media outlets and losing the 95% of glowing coverage along with the 5% that asks moderately uncomfortable questions.

No kidding. The virus has gotten milder as we get more and more varients. It might be easier to get infected with most of the newer varients but you're less likely to have a serious case.
