For a bunch of people who practice music all the time, only Nurie ever really learned to sing or play. Most of the Rod kids are too old now to bring in pity bux, or have people coo about how adorable it is for tiny people to parrot religious songs. So the traveling Rod Show became increasingly embarrassing, until Jill put together this new group of Littles to trot out on Nathan's church stage.

I wonder what kind of compensation Jill demands for their frequent performances at this tiny church.

No, they perform music in church. I've never seen them practice or even talk about music. I think Dave and Jill want to feel it's an exchange rather than a charity case.

If Jill and her family came to my church, she would be invited to eat and park. No cash would exchange hands. Clothes? Food? Showers and baths? Laundry access? Sure. It just isn't helpful to sent someone basic needs who's in need if they're not dangerous to congregants.

If she attends churches that offer testimony (encouraging other congregants to speak), she may just simply be running the kids on stage with no real warning for the audience what's about to happen.
 
All I’ll say is that there is a serious problem with these types in the fundie community. I’m an evangelical/was homeschooled myself and there were more than a few super tards like this clan that would instigate drama and grift. However most of the time they would get kicked out pretty quickly. Same within churches, grifters will sometimes get a few bucks but they are sniffed out pretty quickly.
Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's. clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Matthew 7;15

The biggest way to separate those who are “””true Christians (tm)””” and those who are grifting morons like this woman is by their actions. The people I’ve met who are truly following Jesus are not giant grifters and more often than not they’re donating their time and money to ministry instead of taking away from it. It’s sad to see people take advantage and impose their will on others, and especially when they are abusing their children like this.
 
Jill took some of the kids to an aquarium a Sunday afternoon. She posted several videos but it was mostly of the different fish tanks. So I'm just bringing two of the videos, one where she explains why they're all dressed up and another where Jill lets cleaner shrimps nibble at her finger.

I'm also bringing 3 screenshots of the only things that I found interesting from the videos I haven't included: 1) Hannah is wearing a mennonite dress, 2) Tessie is doing a word puzzle game.

The male Rodlet in the aquarium pictures looks like a guy who's on weird epilepsy medication, or has cystic fibrosis, or some other condition that makes him look sick/bony/ratty. He looks like the one "man with rare medical condition" you see in every university lecture for some reason.

That's sadly the most robust of the Rodlets, Samuel. He's taller and has more mass than any of his three brothers, and can reportedly hunt, fish, and do construction jobs. This makes Samuel the Rodlet most likely to achieve marriage, IMO.

Not that it really impacts your general point, but this is an outdated theory that at best oversimplifies a very complicated reality. There is no direct evidence for why December 25 was chosen, but Jesus's birth was being celebrated on the winter solstice very early on in Christianity's history, long before any church hierarchy or institutional power existed.

Christmas definitely picked up some aspects of Saturnalia along the way. It picked up just as much from the pre-Christian Germanic holiday of Yule. But the current evidence is that all of this happened organically, there isn't any evidence of an active Papal campaign to subsume Saturnalia into Christmas.

I think they want the tights to stand out when they're IBLP or Gothard - just like how, instead of buying dresses with sleeves, they buy tank or spaghetti strap dresses and wear a non-matching longsleeve underneath, to immodestly brag about how modest they are.
