As you are being informed by others, Karl didn't design anything. He just consulted on what he thinks would be the ultimate AR. Polymer lowers existed before the KE arms lower but they aren't popular because AR owners generally want what the military has which is an aluminum lower and upper. Now that two gun with pistol and rifle is becoming very mainstream, there is a market for lightweight gamer rifles, albeit still small in my opinion given that the big name manufactures haven't bothered making polymer lowers yet.
No, Karl will heed anecdotal accounts from US service members if it supports what he believes. I believe the term that describes it is "confirmation bias."
Ian is still an amateur historian and falls for fuddlore occasionally. I give him credit for trying though. He definitely had to work hard to build his brand.

I see it as just a thing for autists to fight over just like the people who wanted it on the gun in the early days of the AR. I for one never slam the bolt home in any of my guns I simply just re-rack it. My AR's don't have forward assists since just like my other guns I just re-rack the bolt, also saves some weight.

There was also that time Ian was gonna put out a book about the Ukraine War, but it turned out the guy he was collaborating with was part of Azov Battalion. He ended up shitcanning the whole thing and deleting the videos (these are archives).
I can see how some people will accuse him of cucking, but I also think the poor man simply wants to do videos about firearms and their history and he's probably paranoid he's gonna get yeeted at any moment. If you ask me, Ian has a winning formula and he absolutely shouldn't get political. Not everything has to be political.

Everybody loves reading a lot into what Ian says or does, but honestly I think he's just a normie who mostly just wants to grill. Given he seems to be pretty popular with the rest of the gun community around his area (I got family around there and they've spotted him at the range once or twice), I'd say he's at least smart enough to hide any powerlevel there too.
Either way, he's said it multiple times he doesn't have time to bother much with social media, and the Donbas War book made it pretty clear he doesn't keep up with much online, unless people are literally screaming in his face. He wants to talk about old guns and politics mostly just seem to get in the way. I don't think you'll ever catch him calling anyone a niggerfaggot, but at the same time I don't think he'll be putting on a sparkly tutu and volunteering for Drag Queen Story Hour anytime soon either.

Regarding the book on the Azov Bn. What was almost certainly going to happen, was that a group of permanently online lefties, would cause enough shit so that large institutions such as Royal Armories would never be able to have any dealings with him. As soon as they got a reputable source such as Mother Jones to write an article saying he was promoting NAAZIs then he'd have been fucked.
Ironically Karl isn't in such a vulnerable position, however he's a true believer.

Karl, being Satanist and all, might have done something like that just to piss people off, but Ian was leaning into a joke that's been around for probably almost as long as Forgotten Weapons has. The whole Gun Jesus thing was started by his fanbase, and not him.
To be completely fair to Karl on this particular point, Dugan does seem to have gone more than a little cuckoo for Coco Puffs. Some people have speculated his MS is fucking with his brain.
I think where Karl falls down is pulling the Soviet tactic of deleting any evidence of prior content collaboration. Like, who cares? If you don't want to collaborate with the guy anymore, just don't. The old content doesn't retroactively become bad. Ian has left all his collaborations with Vickers up. Even the ones that plug Larry's books.

Turns out, maybe all of that wasn't all that much of an act. Or, like I said, he's not doing so well because of the MS diagnosis.
BTW, I just checked, and that video is still up.
So maybe Reddit is wrong. Or maybe Karl deleted shit, and then changed his mind. Or something.
I guess if Karl didn't delete his Dugan collabs, that's a point in his favor (now watch him do it, LOL).

One of the issues with an exact polymer copy of the AR lower receiver is they break just below the buffer tube threads, the gun is already so light anyway the tradeoff usually isn’t worth it. There’s versions with aluminum skeletons/ reinforcements, but at a certain point it just makes the production more complicated without any tangible upside.
The CavArms/KE Arms lower fixes those issues with the fixed stock design, because it takes away the biggest failure point. It’s probably the best one out there and the only current production one I’d consider for a centerfire gun (Robar had a pretty cool poly lower out at one point I got to help T&E) and it’s really nice when paired with a rimfire upper. The GWACS lolsuit is bullshit, and it’s a shame that Karl and Russell happen to also be such insufferable fags. At this point that fact itself may end up slowing the adoption of polymer lowers more than the lolsuit, which sucks because a polymer lower that essentially isn’t a disposable piece of trash waiting to break definitely has a place.

I don' think Ian will ever go cow. He's had more years in a brighter guntube limelight than Karl to do so. Karl is just so less levelheaded than your average person regardless of the actual contents of his beliefs and personal life. Every time Karl fucks up with demonstrating what he believes he misses a dozen opportunities to make it at least palatable. It's almost as if he genuinely thinks being needlessly bombastic and performative to the point to where he can be easily mocked is a good thing. It's only a good thing if you're right, or at least surrounded by people who will think you are.
But Karl has chosen the wrong crowd to play his Satanist-Tranny-Cuckold backing track to. He's shot himself in the foot by not taking Ian's example of keeping his content and life separate. There's a reason Forgotten Weapons has 2.5mil subs and InRangeTV has only 430k starting from 2011 and 2015 respectively. I think Karl has demonstrated in the past that he can make content on par with Ian, but I don't think he'll ever be able to drop his reputation for being a complete sideshow.

I think it was @White Devil and @ellroy over in the General Guntuber Thread who pointed out that he'd probably spend a lot of time in A&N, and I agree with them that seeing that would be glorious.
And on it's own that would be perfectly fine, Hopliteofheil has a following and that statement describes him to a T, the issue with Karl above all else is that he takes that combative and aggressive stance and then reacts poorly to anyone who disagrees or who does it back to him. Karl takes everything far too personally especially for internet discourse. I think Othais is wrong about Karl on this one, I don't think Karl is an edgelord who likes to argue for the sake of arguing, I think that statement implies far too much seperation between Karl's arguments and his personally held beliefs. Karl consistently acts as if his opinion is indisputable fact and then is almost bewildered when people don't see it his way, his anger seems to stem from the sort of frustration you'd feel needing to explain something to a child who should know better.
Ian on his own is honestly rather boring and vanilla, he himself rarely is the target of criticism. If you read the criticism against him I'd say that probably nine out of every ten complaints about the guy is taking out frustrations against his fanbase and/or associates, unles you're @White Devil of course, then your hate boner for Ian is six foot tall and thick enough to eat a cheeseburger off the end of.
Ian was very clearly Karl's tard wrangler, you can see that interaction in their collab Q&A videos, when Karl gets going and Ian calms him down or takes Karl's ill thought out initial point and helps him to articulate it in a better more thoughtful way.
