Omg, I wonder if he deleted the tweet cos he got a direct threat/notice to from the agents representative?

He has left up way equally bad light, cringe forever (until it auto deletes in his settings), he has no qualms with leaving his tumblr treating his fans like shit up, nor sees a problem talking to people like so from the off.

Man, I bet he got the shits put up him. At least he knows it will never happen now. Proof will be in that he never mentions it again.

It’s insane to think that would fly and rights holder would be blind to it or that his shit “REDACTED ” patter protects people from taking extreme offense.

I think what really gets me about this whole situation is the way that Olly seems to actually think he's bringing enough to the table that its baffling and bizarre he isn't immediately having agents trip over themselves to buy his scripts and turn them into billion dollar blockbusters. It really displays a special level of delusion that he actually believes that his 'star power' is enough to speak for itself and elevate the work, that its an obvious moneymaker for the estate that he'd adapt it (lol, I bet that the Prince cost more to run than it made) and that a free dinner is some kind of enticing offer for any kind of serious agent who almost certainly eats at a nice place on interested parties dime every second day. I wouldn't be surprised if he thinks his mere presence is good enough reason for anyone to be desperate to have dinner with him.

Through all this he is so fucking clueless that he can't see how whinging on Twitter is not just useless, its actively hurting his cause and makes him seem hopelessly unprofessional and just a big drama queen who nobody in their right mind would want to try and collaborate with on any creative work.

Its pretty fun seeing his narc warped view of himself and how the rest of the world sees him bash against the rocks of reality, and yet he still refuses to properly understand the situation. It reminds me of Junior Soprano's immortal words: "Some people are so far behind in the race they actually believe they're leading".

No archive unfortunately but these were the last unhinged tweets before the thread got nuked. (Didn't screenshot the last tweet, it was a YouTube link to "Time Is On My Side" by The Rolling Stones.)

You have to ask if his past accusations of abuse are warped, which isn't something I like doing, but you just know Ollie is the kind of person to interpret being denied anything he wants at all as "abuse".
This is something I've always thought about since seeing his performative video about so called abuse by a gf. Worst fake cry ever.
You ever consider that if any wealthy, well-connected person can suddenly become a beleaguered minority that everyone has to hear this "let my people go" crap from every time someone declines to hand them the world on a silver platter, that maybe this is the exact kind of scheme to protect the bourgeoisie you're always complaining about?
That's exactly what it is, but any leftist who says this used to get banned off twitter and everything else for stating this fact.

I feel like it says something about how useless Olly is that he can't parlay posh-son YouTube celeb trans princess into steady bread. The media's desperate for some trans figureheads.

He really should have been able to establish himself; that was the trajectory, from coming out he had a big boost of puff pieces, in order to be useful for media a that kind of jobbing talking head for this and that, mostly go-to for trans stuff* - it could have been transatlantic, especially with Contra out on gardening leave- ironically it is his myopic way of talking about transness that makes him inappropriate even as a Balanced Troon panellist.

He focuses all-encompassing rage on the NHS, he speaks easily identifiable mistruths which will not only risk getting networks / publications in trouble, they just dont sit well in a respected piece of media. Neither does his Narciness.

He has to relay his practiced stories "aunty abby" with the same cue to cry, in various interviews; in such demonstrating that he isnt actually capable of a normal, unscripted human conversation- which is the job description of being a good popular / news media contributor.

*which was bullshit, as he was like JUST out, but you know.he's posh and the sort of person the media like to have as an off the peg, professional vox-popper.

he could have snuck in as this, if he hadn't drawn so much attention to what a problem it was, with his Paris Lees interview, where he was showing off and self felating & it became clear how little Olly knew ~
having a whale of a time being newly trans, being sexually inappropriate (showing his maleness) etc.
He nearly got away with a total injustice, but drew attention to it by...just being himself for once?
So that's what he's like unscripted;
still his delusions of grandeur, but just with more interpersonal inappropriateness.

Then there was the cringe-inducing 'my therapist wants to fuck me' section of his attempt of a rabble-rousing, Henry V speech, at what was supposed to be a dignified and respectable trans healthcare protest at the NHS...

In fact, when you look at his "casual / gregarious/ humorous" output- KJB's podcast and their (one sided) interactions on twitter, all Tube has is leering and embarrassing over-displays of what i guess is supposed to be hot / subversive sexuality- of course it comes off wrong, it comes off what it actually is.

A big red faced, rugger bugger 'rumpy pumpy' loser, who likes t be seen as a casual open and honest shagger Lad, but is really just the malevolent creep who hones in on & generously "walks home'' the expertly selected, black out drunkest, 17year old girl at a party, back in those days.

that stink never shifts, those guys never die, they just transform.

I put it to the Choory, that the more someone feels the need to transform themselves- their name, personality, bone structure, sex (delusional) - this late in life;
directly reflects the scale of what they are hiding.

Tube's attempt at accent was so bad they had to change it so there was just a random english person in the cowboy film, this somehow = Kiera Knightley .

I have a feeling he wont have many lines making it onto screen- accent-wise it will be way jarring and focus far too much attention on him, relationally to his part.
His only hope of this not being the case, is if there is a variety of accents amongst a cast of characters with a diversity of nationalities

A tiny part of me gets where Choobs is coming from with making a big deal about his 3 acting roles so far.
This is a tight business but also one that feeds lots of mouths. Is easy to get lost in the crowd and it for actors every year is crucial to making a name. I’ve seen people in their early to mid-twenties having quarter life crisis about this. You may think I’m being to charitable to Choobs but is more of a sad brag about how entertainment works.
The credits are never as complete as they seem. You get people that are still chasing their first credit after being in the ‘we needed someone last minute’ extended crews for five Netflix productions.

Chubes’s accent game has to be particularly lackluster if a southern accent from a background character in one episode warranted giving him a pass.

I believe this extends to a lot of lolcows. This isn’t my forum and I usually keep my mouth shut as such but I think that some cows are given an unfairly hard time for engaging in self promotion. It’s tough out there and to a certain extent they’re just doing what their careers require.

I think Tube does go the extra mile into self obsessed lolcow territory but some of it is par for the course

I do think its something that people are expected to do, but self promotion is a fine art in and of itself and you want to make it seem like its professional and reflects well on you. I wouldn't begrudge Choob for having an instagram account where he posts pictures promoting this or that, I'd expect it, but I very much begrudge the way that at every opportunity he comes across as either incredibly self obsessed and narcissistic or clueless and clumsy, obviously sucking up to people and saying things like 'Oh yes these two obscure actors who were on Django are my ideal images of non-toxic masculinity!' or 'Ah, you know who should play the Joker in the next Batman movie? Steve Coogan, who coincidentally I acted in a two second scene in his latest TV show!' in totally random and unrelated contexts.

Like the man cites his own videos, smugly, when he's arguing about things like 'sex work' on twitter, and of course could not be bothered to summarize or defend his positions in person, not to mention the constant absurd statements about how he wants to be the next sexy Megan Fox, his bragging about dumb awards he got his fanbase to win for him, the absurdly arrogant way he interacts with his fans on tumblr (he often just uses heartfelt questions as yet another way to promote his stuff) and especially the massive and public breakdown he's had recently about not getting the rights to some book, like as an up and coming actor that's the very last thing you'd want to do since it just makes you seem like a gigantic primadonna that does not understand how the industry works at all.

This post nails it. He’s lacking any humanity. I don’t mean empathy or whatever (although that too) but just any sense that there’s anything there beyond self-promotion.

He’s basically one of those Twitter bots that spits out regurgitated and rescrambled news headlines, often just barely coherent, with a link to the article or website they’re shilling.

I agree with you about Tube. I just think that, as a general rule of thumb, cows should get a fairly significant benefit of the doubt when they’re advertising themselves.

In Tube’s case, that benefit of the doubt ends up highlighting just how unnerving and fake his whole act is. Even after discounting for self promotion it still comes off a disturbing.

It doesn't offend me that he promotes himself. It offends me that he's bad at promoting himself. Branding his Twitter as a professional account complete with credits in bio while tweeting furiously about the NERVE of that agent GATEKEEPING IP and REFUSING to be bullied into free dinner... lol yikes. What impression is he trying to make? Please, if you're going to sell yourself, at least sell a coherent vision.

That's always been one of his greater weaknesses. He wants to be everything at once — have his cake and eat it too. Radiate respectable BBC presenter vibes and bellow that the NHS is doing murder. Telegraph sexual availability to parasocially attract men and tell men to shut up about his looks because he's a lesbian anyway. In this case, present as a professional actress and throw tantrums about professional frustrations. It's like he picks up and recites ideas about how a person in his place should be without actually processing the information and applying it to his behavior.

Kind of like he recites philosophy without understanding it and consequently makes all manner of careless mistakes.

Says he's working on a "huge franchise." Who knows what "huge" means in his mind. Any guesses?

not to mention the constant absurd statements about how he wants to be the next sexy Megan Fox
Could you imagine lol. A British troon filmed with the ridiculously lustful camera angles from the first Transformers movie. It would be one of the sickest jokes ever played on a theater audience.

If I recall correctly, someone asked him something like “Star Wars or Star Trek?” in the last live stream, and he dissolved into deranged guffaws and said his agent would kill him if he answered. So maybe it’s some Star Wars related project? Seems hard to believe but there are so many offshoots and side projects I suppose it could be.

Given how all of the new Star Trek shows are kinda crap apart from SNW - and even SNW had a token tumblr minority in the form of a "non-binary" actor - I could actually somewhat imagine Olly conning his way into some single-episode bit role. I don't think it's likely, but it's not the craziest thing either. And hey, if you need someone to play some weird alien with forehead makeup, Olly's basically already half-way there!

I get the feeling so strongly that he sent himself the above question. It’s not even a question really is it? Who would be interested in it? His fans aren’t really into him as an actor, rather as a YouTuber- how can you be into someone who- for all intents, has been in one thing you could be expected to know them for- namely his four lines in Ladhood- and even so, that question…
Seems like he just needed an ego boost after recent events and had to find some way of calling himself a 200 Million dollar actor 🙄

Lol he’s so out of touch with how bad he is at it- he is the equivalent of the nutso shit X factor contestants where you are just like- HOW can they think they are good?

The hilarious thing about a head honcho literary agent who manages the IPs for a range of famous dead authors is you can't cancel them and they won't care if you try.

Like even if Wylie flat out called Ollie a delusional man in a dress with no talent, what are production companies and publishing houses going to do? "Oh, I guess we're not going to do another edition of that Martin Amis book because the literary agent is transphobic"?
Only to a certain extent. If he got caught saying naughty 'transphobic' things, his living clients might cease to employ him as their agent. Yes, it would be absurd, but something I've learnt over the past few years is how easily people cave in to social pressure on 'progressive' issues. Would Wylie care, at this point in his career? Possibly not.

I agree that he'd probably pick somewhere like The Ivy, because Ollie hasn't really thought about the reality of the situation. "I'll buy you dinner" is great for a normal person, but a top literary agent is rich and also will go for meals on expense with clients all the time. The Ivy is far less exclusive than people realise (about £20-£30 per main) and a man like this probably regularly lunches in somewhere like Rules or Langan's. I imagine he's a member of a private member's club like Annabel's.

So if you were trying to lure him out, you'd need to impress him. Present yourself as graciously accepting defeat but suggesting you'd love to pick his brain. Offer to take him to Le Gavroche for the tasting menu or to Isabel for the A5 Wagyu, or get a table at Bacchanalia (that new Ancient Roman Decadence themed venue that got in the papers for hiring a "grape feeder with beautiful hands"). Nice nosh isn't enough, you'd need to offer something amazing, somewhere that just money can't get you a table.
The man's been at the top of his game for over forty years. He represents many of the most famous littérateurs of the last century. He's not a wide-eyed bumpkin who's going to be won over by a meal in a fancy London restaurant, no matter how special it is. How do you think he got where he is today? How did he manage to get his hands on the estates of celebrated authors such as Nabokov? Because he's good at his job and he cares about the people he represents. When writers, or the families of writers, leave their legacy in the hands of a third party, they're chiefly interested in two things: first, someone who is capable of handling the royalties, and second, someone who treats the work with respect, and doesn't flog it off to any interested party who happens along. So apart from the fact that any normal person would naturally avoid having to share a meal with a weirdo like Olly if they can possibly help it, this belief that he can simply bribe the Mystery Agent with dinner is just pathetically delusional.

He tweeted earlier and since deleted (didn't screenshot or archive) about waiting for the gatekeepers to die, and he'd do his adaptation in "20XX" ...
Pure speculation but we might be able to narrow down the author's identity even further. Presumably the rights aren't on the verge of expiring because Olly wouldn't be throwing such a trantrum over it; on the other hand it isn't so far ahead in the future that he's giving up hope entirely. So depending on how patient or impatient you think Olly is, the author probably died in the 60s or 70s.

I don't think anyone here minds the fact that he's promoting himself as an actor. He just does it in a cringeworthy, self-important way and it's funny.

Edit: just realized I mistyped 'tantrum' but I'll leave it because it's mildly amusing.

Tooba apparently has the hots for Blaire White, or some other right wing trans influencer I'm not aware of.
