It’s -38 again this morning. 2 days ago the forecast was that it was supposed be warming up, and closer to -20 this morning.

My lamest ongoing conspiracy theory is illustrated here:

Oh well. Propane tank is full, I will hit Costco this afternoon, then will hunker down for the duration.

Why not just dress warmer, get the snowmobile out, and enjoy the weather? As long as it's not lower than -40c should be okay.

Easy for you to say. The vodka in your blood makes you less likely to freeze to death.
You don't expect me to get on a snowmobile sober, do you? Those things can be dangerous.

While I do have a racial bonus to cold resistance, still nothing compared to this guy. I'm jealous.

I am more pissed about the stupid fucking wind than I am the snow. This year has been a kick in the ass with all the derechos and other gusty bullshit to deal with a problematic silver maple on my property come spring.

Didn't we have a historic winter storm last year, or last decade? Every year's a new record for weather phenomena, I guess.

I'll believe it being historic if it snows in the fucking desert. We haven't had snow down here in over 100 years.
They're going to log it down in a book somewhere so it will become part of historical record. Checkmate.

On my way home from work I was trying to drive around two crashed cars along the side of the road, and then a third car comes sliding around the bend full speed, and crashes into both of them. Missed me by just a couple feet, lol

I'm on the East Coast and we have a warm front coming in right now. It's too warm for snow, yet too cold for the rain to by anything but reminiscent of fifth circle of Hell. The worst part is, the rain will stop conveniently right as the temperature begins to plummet, so no white Christmas for this badger. *sigh*

Wow, I've been listening to this storm howling into town. Pretty wild and I can feel it through double paned windows. Also, I wouldn't worry about Texas as long as there is no snow or precipitation/ice, should be fine. I think that is what really threw most of Texas into a loop, roads weren't able to get cleared fast enough to allow service peoples in.

Temperatures where I am have dropped by around 50 degrees and it's still getting colder.
I went out to sweep the porch and can honestly say that the cold + wind is no joke.
Stay in unless it's absolutely necessary.
It'll warm up in a week, just wait.

As bad as this storm is being hyped up to be, my part of the country is actually doing fine by it. The freak ice storm from March ended up knocking out power everywhere but the effect is merely festive here.
