Kansas City pastor BERATES 'cheap' congregation for not honoring him with a new watch

A pastor berated his 'poor' congregation for not honoring him with a new expensive watch he asked for a year ago while reportedly delivering a sermon about 'taking care of God's shepherd.'

Pastor Carlton Funderburke, of City, was caught calling his congregation 'poor, broke, busted, and disgusted' after they still hadn't bought him an expensive Movado watch - which ranges in price from $395 to $3,295 - since he first asked for it in last year.

'I'm not worth your McDonald's money? I'm not worth your Red Lobster money?' he asked the Church at the Well congregation as he paced around on stage on August 7. 'I ain't worth your St. John Knits - y'all can't afford it no how.

'I ain't worth your Louis Vuitton? I ain't worth your Prada? I'm not worth your Gucci?'

He went on to say that he was wanted his members to know 'what God is saying' before becoming agitated, stating: 'Ooh, you can buy a Movado [watch] at Sam's [Club] and you know I asked for one last year. And here it is all the way in August and I still ain't got it.

'Let me kick down the door and talk to my cheap sons and daughters.'

Funderburke has since released an apology video, saying the 'video clip does not reflect my heart or my sentiment toward God's people, yet, that's not discernible in the clip.'

He did not offer an explanation for his actions.

'Therefore, I offer this sincere apology to you today,' the pastor said as he read from a visible script.

'No context could erase the words I used. I apologize to all the people that have been hurt or angered or anyway damaged by my words.'

He further went on to apologize to his congregation for not showing them 'respect' or 'love,' and for all other pastors who will be scrutinized for his actions.

He later released an apology video (pictured) on Tuesday, saying the clip 'does not reflect my heart or my sentiment toward God's people'

'For those who know and love me, thank you for your support,' he said. 'For those who now know me because of this video clip, I regret that your first impression of me is one of anger, hate, and resentment.

People who lived in towns dominated by Churches like this should get a free pass to feel euphoric in their atheism.
Black pastors being grifters that could put the white televangelists to shame is a tale as old as time, sadly. My favorite was always Creflo A. Dollar, Jr. I'm not sure how you Creflo a dollar, but he was doing it, right into his pockets. Truth in advertising there.

I'm a little disappointed. Here I was hoping it was going to be a follow-up of that nigger priest in New York a couple months back that had about a million dollars worth of bling stolen from him and his wife. Never did ever hear what happened there, whether it was a legit robbery, if it was some gang or drug kangpin recalling a debt he owed them, or some kind of scam he concocted where he hired the thieves. Here I was hoping he was getting the bling DTs and was jonesing so bad for a new watch that he was guilt tripping his flock. However, I'm really not shocked that he's not the only Basketball-American pastor who puts his own value in materialistic luxuries over his holy duty towards God and his sacred covenants towards his flock. Niggers ruin everything, including religion.

Black people are always behind in farming well meaning Christians. Hes still on Prosperity when all the cool grifting wolves are on social justice.

Prosperity Gospel was created by white people.

People tell me I have to believe in god to see the bad shit in the world, that I can’t possibly believe this guy is evil without believing in god. Good and evil are man made concepts and this guy is pure evil.

I laugh at anyone who has given these people money then calls someone like Ethan Ralph or Nick Fuentes a grifter. It’s not a grift if you’re selling salvation apparently.

Basically fuck religion, it’s a grift by a self-created “priestly” class that stole your ancestors money for centuries and wants to steal yours now.

There's a reason the only people whose stated religious convictions I accept with 100% certainty are the Amish and monks.

What a racist. Didn't he know that wholesale clubs are oppression because blacks and women can't afford to join them, therefore forcing them to pay more for less? It's like he thinks nogs can opt out of food deserts or something.

With blacks it's about food deserts, with women I think it was about being literally incapable of buying bulk tampons.

Hey, nog-if your congregation is "poor, broke, busted and disgusted" I doubt they could afford Prada or Louis Vutton. What a black asshole.

I hope as many people as possible leave his church and find a new one. Teach this man he's not their heavenly brother if you pull shit like this.

16 And they sent out unto him their disciples with the Herodians, saying, Master, we know that thou art true, and teachest the way of God in truth, neither carest thou for any man: for thou regardest not the person of men.

17 Tell us therefore, What thinkest thou? Is it lawful to give tribute unto Caesar, or not?

18 But Jesus perceived their wickedness, and said, Why tempt ye me, ye hypocrites?

19 Shew me the tribute money. And they brought unto him a penny.

20 And he saith unto them, Whose is this image and superscription?

21 They say unto him, Caesar's. Then saith he unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's; and unto God the things that are God's.

22 When they had heard these words, they marvelled, and left him, and went their way.

23 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, Verily I say unto you, That a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven.

24 And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.

People who can't understand Jesus' teachings on the matter have no business being pastors and people are dumb for giving them money.

I immediately thought this was about a dsp stream. :story:
It's shame DSP was raised Catholic, he would have been a great grifter evangelical preacher.

  1. Can talk for hours on end about nothing
  2. Willing to contradict themselves constantly, but in a way dents don't notice
  3. Constantly begging

Onto the subject at hand, I know the congregations of this preacher will fall for this cause they always do. Like ya know that preacher that was in that deposition tape where it was layed out how he's grifting church money for luxury goods for himself? That preacher guy went back to his congregation, talked about everything in that deposition, treated it like a win, and those bastards were fucking hooting and hollerin for him.

This reeks of Prosperity Gospel bullshit and it's a huge part of what murdered Christianity in the 90s to 2000s.
Prosperity Gospel is merely a form of theological corruption. Its proudest adherents build mansions on Earth they won't be taking with them to Heaven. They aren't even Christians, they are grifters.
