Nintendo really hit a home run with the Switch, their console/handheld hybrid is doing gangbusters thanks to the massive selection of games it has achieved over its lifetime run but I have to wonder how long will Nintendo keep it going considering how long in the tooth its specs are getting. Then again that did not stop the DS from selling 150M+. If there ever was a console with the possibility of beating the PS2's sales record, the Switch might be it.

Why did Sony stop reporting PS4 shipments? The PS4 is still suppose to get support next year and even in 2024. Unless they are stopping production on the PS4? IIRC the PS4 has only been discontinued in Japan (except the slim model)
I haven't seen a PS4 on the shelves since Covid started, and I definitely haven't seen one since PS5 launched. I assumed they stopped production tbqh

I was at a local mom and pop Game Repair stop the other day (and funny that it's now closeby to my condo), and although it usually consists of retro game novelties, they also have some new release stuff, and I noticed that there were more Switch games available than some of Xbox Series games, and yet still no PS5 games on their shelves.

Still though, that kinda thing should be free, or at least like a dollar or two to cover costs. Eight bucks, lol fuck off
That reminds me: remember when Kojima/Konami thought it was a good idea to release a demo of The Phantom Pain for $40? Bullshit.

Why wouldn't he think it was a good idea? He's got a solid track record of holding back content/fixing fuck ups a year later since 1998. VR Missions, Substance, Subsistence, Peace Walker HD, Death Stranding Directors Cut. The only one that didn't get one was MGS4 AFAIK

It only made sense that he thought he could sell a demo and then the main game as well, and it's also pretty obvious if there hadn't been a falling out with Konami he would have "fixed" the issues and added the held back content for the inevitable triple dip.

@Marissa Moira bought them all.

That would make me lol so hard if true. Imagine Sony paying companies for that holy shit.
I doubt that Sony purchasing Bungie would be a success. Bungie would back out due to such a thing.

And the time Activision had people preordering for a demo of the game they just paid for. But that's basically what they've been doing with call of duty for half a decade.

It's a shame demos seem to be going the way of the dodo. I'm glad preorder demos didn't catch on after THPS. This trial system seems to have some potential.

Steam at least has those free weekends for select games that rotate every now and then. It's not demos on demand though.

MS are claiming that Sony is paying publishers "blocking rights" to not put their stuff on Gamepass.
At least post a source

Apparently this claim is coming from a Brazillian word doc. See attached, 27 page PDF for anyone that wants to translate it

Reminder that the Switch has yet to receive an official price cut, in Japan, America & Europe, in spite of being 5 years into the market now. Which remains a first for a console ever. Also, it's likely the console will last another 3 or 4 years due of its staggering performance and the lack of competition from others.

I don't see it lasting 3 to 4 years. Its tech is only getting further behind, and its sales do seem to be slowing down a bit. Not enough for Nintendo to be worried, but enough that its clear that its peak years are behind it. I give it another year, maybe two, tops.
