I’m honestly glad Archie will never know how increasingly horrible his mother became after his suicide. Not knowing the horrors of having someone, especially your parent, milk your death for money and sympathy points.

Actually not sure if that’s more of a blessing or a curse at this point.
 
Josh's stream was very well done. Really highlighted the absurdity of her stories and how much precious court time she's wasted to force futile necromancy for Archie's body. There are nurses and doctors in that ward who aren't going to emerge emotionally unscathed from this disgusting misappropriation of their already tightly budgeted resources that is entirely her doing for her own benefit. Resources she spits on and blames at every opportunity despite them being legally forced at her discretion to reanimate a body trying desperately to die for FOUR MONTHS.

FOUR MONTHS.

Please God let this kid's body finally fucking code before they attempt removal. Finish it at the hospital and kick out her insanity so they can go back to caring for sick kids who need them. Imagine spending entire shifts having to sit in a room with this actively decomposing body and its crazy mother to make sure it doesn't die yet.

Even if his heart is still beating, he is essentially starving anyway because he can't digest nutrients. She is participating in the starving of her child's corpse. I feel sick. Enough. Make it stop. This is beyond fucked up.

I can only hope the media turns on her in the end.

The spectacle from her when he expires is going to be nuclear level meltdown of denial and nasty blame towards everyone who was forced to entertain this fucking circus.

Another edit for newcomers is that Archie is not comatose, vegetative, or retarded. He is dead, as such he can't digest food, control his bowels, breathe by himself, produce his own blood (he needs transfusions to keep up with what they take out for testing), and he has no response to any kind of stimuli etc. Machines and medication are keeping everything going. There is no hope for recovery and every medical professional in contact with Archie has known that since he was admitted. Hollie denied an MRI some time ago because his instability during that process would flatline him (let alone his vitals going apeshit for normal turning and care in his bed), so this truly last ditch for the transfer to hospice is insane for that reason. Keeping his heart and the rest of him going to spite his rotting brain is fucking precise and a constant effort 24/7, and he would not remain stable long enough to get there.

The reason I didn't know that there was a limit was because a few years previously I had another friend who killed himself the same way. He'd been dead for a while before his GF came home and found him (no idea how long, everything had excreted and almost dried), she hammered on my door around 7.15pm, the ambulance turned up pretty quickly (not sure how quickly because I was doing CPR and time went a bit weird...seemed like almost immediately), and they didn't stop working on him and take him away until almost 11pm.
I nearly included this in my last post as well but thought it was long enough already. And, y'know...not nice to have to think about it all again.

Why would they carry on for that long? I can't see what other rhythms they could have possibly gotten from him that would reset the timer at that point. Obvs I'm no medical bod, but even I knew it was too late when I had to scrape the dried snot off his mouth to give him mouth to mouth. And even after all that, it was still less traumatic than my other friend who was kept lingering on for a fortnight.

Now you've both said about paediatric cases, yeah, much more understandable. Different ball game innit. I think with death culturally being a bit of a taboo subject in the west and the whole process being very clinical, it makes it a lot more difficult for people to accept, especially when it's a child.

I can only speculate but overdose can be reversible cause, we are told to convey these. The fact someone had already started CPR meant the medics continued, rather than half arsed starting themselves whilst getting the story (when was he last seen, if over 20 minutes downtime with no effective CPR than they would confirm asystole and leave it at that). Also adrenaline is used as part of advanced life support, given every 3-5 minutes and this can produce a rhythm on the monitor (pulseless electrical activity though, not an actual pulse), which resets the clock. Seeking advice to discontinue in PEA is quite new and not always done, I think the circumstances of your friends arrest would not warrant that conversation. I’m sorry you had to experience these traumas, I don’t know if my theories are correct and I don’t suppose they would give you closure anyway, I can only speculate on the limited information you know.

I understand now. Horrorcow threads in my experience coalesce into better and better archives of documented insanity, though (perusing any animal abuser’s thread on here will support this) and this one is already pretty well curated and archived.

I’ll agree that this one in particular risks being overrun due to it being both featured and national-potentially-international news but there’s not much that can be done about that other than another registration embargo, and we’ve already just finished one of those.

This is in my county (Essex) and it's been all over the local radio. I mean, we're heading for "Generalissimo Francisco Franco is still dead" levels of coverage on BBC Essex.

I still think that the Christian Legal Centre need their own thread. Andrea Minichiello Williams and their endless string of grifting and L's over OMG CHRISTIANS ARE BEING PURSECUTED tier claims are continuing apace. If the name seems familiar, the last time we had the mother of dead child in denial about his death, with Alfie Reyes, the CLC was there. Their non-lawyer "law student" member Pavel Stroilov attempted to privately prosecute the hospital for murdering him.

Unable to do anything besides watch your own body turn necrotic as your whore mother gets tabloid and tv appearances. This is how you get poltergeists.
 
This was probably some of the most depressing things I've read in a while. Also some of those images of the kid pre-suicide seemed super sus. Is it just me or did it look like the kid juiced. He has abdominal muscle development you shouldn't have at such a young age. I'm mirin' but seems sus tbh.

Which leads me to a question (no medical knowledge whatsoever). How did his brain get so damaged without his heart failing entirely, is it possible that it’s due to someone doing “faulty resiscitation?”

I believe his heart is failing, or at least in dire trouble. But Hollie admitting it means to tell the army he really is dead. She knows it's not working properly but it works against her. Oh and Monty python jokes are always appreciated!

He has no brain material left to experience suffering, and whatever is left is necrotic and falling into his spinal cord. He isn't even a vegetable. Don't worry. It's just desecration of a corpse. Josh's MATI episode covering this extensively details how dead he is.

For what it’s worth, the specific way of talking about it in this thread is extremely, almost entirely, England-centric. To be clear yes it’s UK wide but the talking points I’ve been used typically come from the England. I know in other UK countries the general attitude, especially the words used, are different.

Agonal breathing requires an intact brainstem, since it is triggered by the carotid bodies sending signals to the respiratory neurons in the brainstem. I doubt he would have that reflex.
 
Very morbid and stressful story. Thoughts and the prayers to the child with a literal rotting brain. Personally feel that the only right thing to do is take the child off life support and let them drift away. Probably less painful than the keeping them alive route.
