I'm still not entirely sure how on Earth my kid brother got away with watching this with my tradCath parents sitting next to him.
 
Loved this show as a kid/teenager, don't even feel bad about it and I'd probably still enjoy it if I watched it now. Honestly had nothing to do with the supposed sexual nature of the show (though I did think Clover was hot), it was just a really fun show. I'm... "happy" to see new Totally Spies stuff but I just don't expect anything to be good nowadays. So if it is I'll be pleasantly surprised. Mandy was my favorite character.
 
I think it was a Saberspark video where someone in the comments suggested they masturbated to one of the characters (he referred to them by name but I don't know which is which. Probably the redhead. That seems like the most tasteful option. Plus what is the darker one supposed to be, is she hispanic? If so that's cool, but what if she's black or middle eastern? Then that would be gross. I don't like that kind of racial uncertainty) to the point of injuring themselves.

I don't know, I don't approve of that kind of thing.

I must've missed most of the fetishes part, except the furry one. Though the music was pretty neat, wish there was the OST for BGM in these old childhood shows of mine.
Shame the woke shit is gonna take hold for this new reboot, but it WAS a Canadian/French show originally, so it's not all that surprising.

idk, I feel like everyone who brings this subject up is reaching. Someone pointed out the girls being tied up as proof of having a bondage fetish, but... they're spies, fighting crimes and solving mysteries, and getting tied up by bad guys happens in literally every super hero/crime fighting themed show. Sure you could argue that an artist with a bondage fetish drew it, but does that automatically mean it's promoting bondage? Especially when it's something that happens in every other show, and no one but fellow perverts even picked up on it?

That foot scene is definitely weirder and I could easily believe a pervert drew it, but at the same time, I remember watching that episode and I did not see this scene as sexual. It came off as (and still does, tbh) a typical mean girl bullying the weaker girls by humiliating them. It's set up to show "Hey look, this antagonist isn't just mean, she's a TOTALLY HUGE BITCH!

I guess my thoughts on this is that, yeah, maybe some pervert(s) helped create the show, but if they did, it's so subtle that only fellow perverts would see those scenes as wank material. For kids, it would go completely over their heads.
