I'm amazed of all the high profile troons they got Rhys. Did Kate Strangio turn them down? How about Will Thomas? Maybe The Daily Show isn't what it used to be.

All in all I rate his performance satisfactory. He didn't yell or threaten anybody, he seemed sober and coherent, I think he did a good enough job. What really impressed me was how I only saw two chins. Nobody with a beer belly that big only has two chins, that's movie magic right there!

Noah looked uncomfortable throughout, he barely made eye contact with Rhys, didn't really attempt any humour and presented every even remotely challenging question as though he was asking for someone else. "I agree with you, but people, NOT ME, might suggest....."

There's no way when he saw Rhys in the flesh that he didn't realise the ridiculousness of it all.

He was never going to be anything other than supportive though, he knows full well if he even made an even remotely negative comment then he'd be facing an almighty shitstorm today.

It would be fucking hilarious if we managed to get this Day fellow fired by creating an astroturf Twatter campaign demanding that C of C hire a TRUE and HONEST Basketball-American as their professor of African studies.

And after he joined Rhys in academic exile, we could send him a message that says, "This never would have happened if you had just had the good sense not to publicly support a piece of shit like Rhys McKinnon. Maybe he can get you a job working with him at Canadian Tire, or at least you can crash at his Mom's house with him. I hear he's looking for a new platonic life partner!"

Oh, we certainly didn't get Rhys fired, he managed to get shitcanned from a tenured position all on his own by being such an insufferable cunt that nobody could stand that C of C would have done anything to get rid of him.

As an added bonus, I'm sure that every department at C of C will probably never hire a troon again, or at least until everyone who dealt with him or even heard the Ballad of Troony McTroonface has retired or otherwise moved on.

The word that keeps coming into mind when I see this one is "sophistry."

For the uninformed, the Sophists were Ancient Greeks hired to teach rich young men of the day philosophy, rhetoric, math, and similar subjects. The etymology is related to Sophia, or wisdom, so these were nominally teachers of wisdom. However, my understanding is that they would have made common cause with a lot of postmodernists.

In making sure this shitpost was historically grounded, I looked up the Sophists, and the founder, Protagoras, is the one who originally said, "Man is the measure of all things."

Socrates, Plato, and Aristotle, among others, were sort of a counter to the Sophists.

If you've ever read their works, there's a lot of nitpicky and recursive stuff about how we know the things we know. Where does my understanding of the thing end and the thing itself begin? What is the nature of the thing? How can this thing be differentiated from other, similar things?

"Featherless biped," according to legend, was Plato's definition of man.

Plato would rip off Rhys's head and shit down his neck.

It's been a while since I read his "work" but I seem to remember him basically defending the broader position. By the time he got to that paper he was going to write publicly but gave up on after like a week he was already down the path to arguing the literal position.
 
The easiest way to make Rhys look bad to his chosen audience is to pull out that tweet where he said that homosexuality is an immoral orientation (by virtue of it not being pansexuality).

This show and other like it follow a pattern of psychological imprinting and training. It’s repeated short cycles of speech/response that go:
-statement that mocks the ‘unwanted opinion’
-audience laughter
-statement that ‘Yass queen slay’ supports the current accepted opinion
-audience hooting.
The effect is to have short snappy snarky statements that reinforce the orthodoxy and don’t allow the audience any time to reflect on whether the statement is true or false before their ‘wanted’ emotional response is forced into them. It’s short, emotionally driven and repeated constantly. The combo of thought terminating cliche plus emotional gratification creates a powerful feedback loop. It’s obedience collar training for humans.
Also, Rhys is fat.
