Vision is covered if you have any level of disability rating from the VA, including free corrective eyewear just like the glasses on my face. Dental is either 90 percent or 100 percent rating required, however subsided group dental plans are available through the VA at something like 45 to 65 bucks a month with fairly low deductibles that cover most everything last time I checked.

Mild powerlevel, but VA dental is the utter fucking worst. I don't know what you need to qualify, but because it is non-life saving you are booking cavities like 8 months out. I think one of the wait times on a root canal ended up being almost two years. And anything cosmetic is generally Go right on a head an fuck yourself with a rake, I believe on guy waited over three years for crowns before he just gave up and signed up for dental insurance at work.

Dental wasn't all the much better for those in the service. I recall in the ... I think 90s (or 80s) there was an overhaul because someone complained but before the overhaul generally the solution for any problem from cavities to chips was to just remove the tooth. After it was just long wait times. When I had cause to care about those things, dental was full service with bridges and crowns as well as your normal cavities, but good fucking luck getting an appointment before your enlistment expired or you got a new orders; they'd get you in for cavities that month but anything else was 6 months out or more. And god help you if you missed dental call the day of your appointment. Though you could jump the line if you shammed out the the dental clinic stand-by and there was cancellation/no-show.

...UNLESS the dental damage was provable to active duty incidents, then you got red carpet priority - i.e. one guy who got a one-in-a-million smack in the mouth from 50cal barrel swinging into his face during training. He was given top-of-the-line implants and crowns, plus whitening treatments for his unaffected teeth to match his gleaming new ones. I think someone priced the shit out for a civie dentist and it was over 6 figures of dental hardware & labor.

I posited when the first $5k grift went up that the money was being paid right back to penny for god awful drywalling. If so I would expect Troon construction to be getting another job to mess up when this GFM completes (if they actually get anything, the Troon GFM gift may just have died in general to be replaced by "fund my trip to CA to get the baby vacuum" grift).

I'm no expert on murican gun laws so maybe someone can answer.

Is opening it up as "folk cam come and get some practice in" going to cause legal issues? Like has it not gone from some shooting on their private land to a public range at that point and if so is there specific rules regarding backstop, neighbours etc?

That's before we even get to liability if one of their guests gets injured (which gets more and more likely when you factor in these are troons with guns).

I don't know the specifics for CO or Custer county but in most places in the US the only things the government really cares about when shooting on private land is the distance from roads/occupied buildings and whether or not you're shooting over a road. The biggest legal risk they're taking is someone getting injured and sueing them.

Yeah, ignoring whether local laws exist or not, extremely rural areas of the country are basically "as long as no one dies, we don't care". (Sidenote, Alaska does this to the extreme and it's beautiful). Kind of funny observance that Rural = Conservative = Nazi transphobe fascists, yet they couldn't do shit like this ANYWHERE else.
 
Seconding that the biggest thing they should be worrying about is someone getting injured and getting their asses sued off. This is why unless you know the person very well you never let them shoot on your land.

VA dental is limited to 100% service connected vets, POWs and anyone specifically service connected for dental issues (for example, gruesome facial injuries in combat). They are also (lesser known fact) obligated to do screening dental exams for vets about to undergo chemo/XRT to clear them.

Use a softer toothbrush than you think is "soft." I got turned on to Quantum super-soft toothbrushes from my dentist and now I special order them from Amazon. (One buying option.)

A lot of so-called soft toothbrushes will irritate your gums if you spend long near the gumline, causing the exact gum problems you want to avoid. Remember: what feels like it's scrub-scrub-scrubbing your enamel nice and clean will hurt your much more vulnerable gums in the process.

With ultra-soft, I'm able to gently brush at a 45-degree angle for a reasonable while, getting just under the gumline and making everything super nice and clean up there. Since I moved to this brand and went slower and angled with my brushing, all of my checkups have seen improvement. (And they weren't bad before; I'm moving from "okay and normal" gum territory to "super healthy gums!" by now.)

Add in daily flossing before I brush, and regular cleanings, and my teeth are doing better. And I speak as someone who inherited shitty dental genes from my dad.

Are you talking gum erosion or tooth crumble?

For gum erosion... in a very long view, nothing. Your gums will eventually recede as you get older and your body is less able to regenerate itself. But I am just being difficult because I know what you're really asking is "How do I keep my gums from vanishing before I'm old enough to collect social security".

So lets look at what happens in gum erosion. Your gums are some of the fastest dividing cells in your body. Gum erosion happens when something happens that cell death happen at a greater rate than replacement. Much like your teeth, the usual culprit is acid.
But the real thing you need is drink water, regular flossing and regular cleanings to clear tartar, and probably some mouthwash. Also don't forget to brush your gums.

what usually happens to cause gum erosion is a vicious cycle of tartar build up.
Tartar is, and OCD people please close your eyes, is hardened plaque. It is a hard caked-on layer of old food and bacterial secretions. I want you to imagine dirty dishes set out for a week that you then cover with another layer of food and then another. This your teeth on tartar. This is why they need to use a sharp steel pick to clean it off.

Anyway, the real issue is tartar loves to settle in at the gum line. Your gums will grow 'up' your teeth but won't grow over a rough surface like tartar. Without regular cleanings, tartar will build up pushing your gums further down your tooth until the root is exposed causing pain and exposing the most vulnerable part of your tooth to bacteria. Getting regular cleanings scrapes off this tartar and encourages your gums to grow back up your tooth.

Flossing gets the food between your teeth. Drinking water ensures your mouth stays moist and the tissues in your mouth don't dry out and shrink.

And also following @capsaicin brushing tips. Brush your gums you filthy animals.

I'm somewhat hesitant to recommend mouthwash for an otherwise healthy mouth because it can make your gums dry out and disrupts your oral ecosystem, and I recall there was some ADA guidance against mouthwash to that effect. But its one of those things where the net gain is almost always positive.
I wouldn't do it every time you brush, unless you currently have gingivitis
