Details for... well, nearly everything. In my field we even now strongly lack of Iridium-191 sources. Anesthetics, different consumables for stomatologic needs.
We don't make microchips and heavy rely on Tailand for electronics.
Stuff like that. People need to lurk more, on both sides.
Also, I'm not a fan of relying on China on everything; it's an unreliable ally.

Medical consumables are exempt from sanctions. Saying that how Russian importers are supposed to pay western suppliers when they've been cut off from the western banking system is another matter. The Russian people aren't going to suffer all that much if this is all you can come up with. They'll still have antibiotics and any other generic drugs they need, which is 99.9% of all essential medicine. Europe OTOH really can't live without hydrocarbons, which we're seeing in real time.

First of all, exempts are exempts and broken logistics is broken logistics. I know clinics that completely stopped using their equipment because they can't make any repairs. Also I've talked about our situation earlier.
Second, there's a lot of pharma that stopped their business here. This is about clinical research and investition, there are not many dire consequences in near future, but then, who knows? Not really a good thing.

I'm surprised they don't just go back to chugging Kvass en-masse. I tried some once from a local "European food" shop, It wasn't bad, though definitely an acquired taste. I don't drink alcohol though so I only really had a sip.

A friend of mine who majored in Russian History, and has visited the country a few times has said that there's still a fair amount of wooden piping in St. Petersburg. This isnt really related to the non-sequitur you've produced, but I thought it was an interesting anecdote.
