When I looked into it myself a couple of years ago, I decided to stick with the glasses, because I have dry eyes in the winter from heated air and LASIK apparently makes dryness symptoms way worse. I know that I saw implantable contact lenses as an alternative when I was looking around, but like I said, just ended up accepting the glasses. I don't know if the contact lens one is better, I didn't look into it too much, but it seemed to be a good alternative for people with dry eyes at least.
And to the others in the thread, the risks are not extreme, but the LASIK industry is notorious for having a lot of fly-by-night operations because the procedure is largely computer controlled so is more a matter of upfront cost than skill. There are no requirements for what surgeons need to disclose, and no industry standards on what information on risks to give to clients. There's definitely a lot of people who are helped by it, but it is absolutely true that the industry downplays negative outcomes and complications and pretends they don't exist.
If you are going to do it, just make sure you choose a surgeon who's willing to go through risk factors and really check to make sure you are a good candidate for it. Do not just trust that the closest provider will actually check to make sure you aren't at risk of complications.
The fact alone that they use a poll of 14 - 16 year olds from 2018-2020, as though that is generalizable in any way to previous cohorts of troons, is hilarious. This is what comes from doing studies based on self-reported identity. But here's the kicker:
The sample of transgender boys and girls included very few trans girls, which is to say, that the apparent finding that "trans and non-binary" youth are less likely to commit sexual assault relies on a sample that is mostly female compared to a overall normal population (especially given how often non-binary people are female). It's using self-reported identities to obfuscate the fact that women and girls are more at risk of being targets of SV than the perpetrators.
I hate this type of studies, is so easy to design a study and manipulate the conditions that will give you the conclusion you desire, the whole field of sociology specially is ripe with useless gargabe. People then won't even read it to see how solid it is and just scream "LE SCIENCE has spoken, praised be it"
It got me thinking: everyone here here is familiar with the "adult human female" definition that makes TRAs seethe but I think we don't focus enough on the "adult" part. The new and improved TRA definition is "a woman is anyone who identifies as a woman." But notice it's not "any adult who identifies as a woman."

I sperged about them before on here and I know that repeat comparisons have been made to them but I don't think people realize how closely connected BIID (Bodily Integrity Identity Disorder) and Gender Dysphoria really are. Or rather, how many trannies have BIID, and actively take part in BIID communities. The reason I'm writing this long and incredibly autistic post is to give lurkers insight into their Munchie behavior and how it really is a mental illness, as well as how degenerate some of them are. This is a thread about troons so I don't want to focus on BIID itself but rather the link between BIID and troons. I haven't posted things from their private forums (yet), just Reddit. When I search transgender and BIID on Youtube it comes up with a lot of people trying to debunk the links (despite them admitting it exists time and time again, and studies that they themselves link to which back it up), but there are several German channels from troons talking about it. I don't speak German so I haven't put them in as I don't know what they're saying.
BIID is usually characterized as a desire to amputate one or more of your limbs. They now have people who just feel they were meant to be disabled in some way. The obvious one is the woman who blinded herself. This means there are people in BIID communities who have a desire to be mute etc. Like troons dressing up as the opposite sex, people with BIID will buy equipment for disabled people (wheelchairs, crutches, even going as far as specialist IT equipment), making themselves look like amputees and going out in public. Most people are sympathetic (or awkward) to the person they see missing a leg and they certainly would not challenge them. They can enjoy their cosplay safe in the knowledge that the unsuspecting general public must join in their fantasy/fetish. BIID has an overwhelming sexual element (like being a troon) that BIID admits to and doesn't actually try to hide (although they are now trying to do so in public in an attempt to be more mainstream because they follow how trannies behave). They still don't really make any secret of the fact they are turned on by amputees and by the idea of becoming an amputee.
Like troons, they invade disabled spaces and become incredibly hostile/aggressive to disabled people who tell them to fuck off. They also have a disability (BIID) and people with real disabilities should understand that they too are suffering. I lurk in their private forums and they are more fucked up in there (including the trannies) than they are in public, hence why I am writing this (I can post more from there). They openly abuse and tell disabled people how they should feel about being disabled, telling them that if they are disgusted by their behavior then it is because they are ashamed of being disabled themselves and need to work on that. They have this weird hang up on people who have had 'elective' amputations in the same way trannies don't seem to understand 'gender non conforming' people not being trannies. It is all far too familiar sounding.
They believe that they should have healthcare (the right to have their limbs chopped off). They share information on how to DIY. They believe that teenagers with BIID should have healthcare options. There are teenagers active on their forums.
They aspire to what the troons have achieved and mimic trans rights activism. They openly conflate the two, including the trannies who take part. Again, a significant amount of troons admit both on Reddit and in private groups to having BIID.
He's not the one who wants to cut his own leg off just to get his dick hard.
Another reason I am posting this is because BIID involves a large element of cosplay in public; going out in crutches, wheelchairs, self diagnosis. When you have had your eyes opened to that it becomes very difficult not to see the Munchie. Mild PL but I have a condition that they love to fakeclaim (it isn't autism but I wouldn't blame you with this post) and it does piss me off. I have seen self proclaimed 'trans activists' posting in BIID groups about their desire to amputate limbs and going out in public in wheelchairs as cosplay. Or troons admitting they are perfectly capable of speaking but going out pretending to be mute and showing their specialist equipment to random kids who asked, having to use their phone as a back up talk to text device to carry on the ruse, to post on forums about their fantasy. Rate me autistic or MATI but this is equipment people with disabilities actually need to go to work or college and its something you see as a game.

If something is the "normative" thing to do, like not eating people, a queer theorist will come in an talk about the need to "queer" our ideas of what is edible. It is literally insane garbage, and should not be taught in universities.
I took one class focused on post-structuralism as part of my history degree. I had a huge argument with the TA about how stupid one of the articles she gave us was, that described scientific measurement with instruments, like the kind on a space probe, as a masculine and patriarchal act of violation (ie. There is nothing wrong with eugenics. It does not always involve Nazis and death camps. Troons are the ones sterilizing kids with Lupron and other drugs, and see how they react to women like HormoneHangover, Alex of DaysGoByGoBy (She's an XY Swyer female) and Helena. They would rather see them gone.
Eugenics is a formalized version of natural selection. Instead of shunning people with bad genes, or undesirable traits we are starting to be able to use technology to fix those traits for the betterment of the species.
Obviously people can do such in bad faith, and sometimes eugenics is an atrocity. The Holocaust was an atrocity. The stuff China is doing is too. There are many other examples throughout history of eugenics done wrong. It's good to be against those uses of the term. Means you have an understanding of right and wrong.
But using gene editing to prevent disabilities and birth defects is not a bad use of eugenics. I highly doubt any child who should have deaf is going to say when they get older, gee I sure wish I couldn't hear my kitten purr!, it's just not going to happen. Yet that's eugenics, selecting and fixing things that have a grouping, a culture, because it's better for the individuals to not be disabled.
