I found it hard to understand at first, living in Europe pretty much only sand niggers and old ladies really believe in a god. You still get people LARPing as Catholics to feel better than other people but they don't take it seriously.

There's a vast majority of retards in the States who do take it seriously though. White retards. Retards with power and being an atheist in certain parts can really socially isolating. You hear some horror stories of people losing their families and jobs just because they can't live a lie and still pretend a big sky wizard controls everything.

It used to be pretty fun too. Then the third wave feminists came along, added a "+", and the infighting pretty much levelled even before the gender stuff started to creep in. You were either a corporate Democrat then or you were hounded out the movement.

If I wanted to get involved again I'd have to keep two sets of books in my head, one were I evaluate the world through the lens of skepticism and another were I'd have to totes agree a man in a dress is not just a woman, but the most stunning and brave example of womanhood there is.

That aside, your statement that people don't have much cynicism online anymore is interesting. I understand your perspective but I disagree - I see much more cynicism online now. If you look at old personal webpages preserved from the 90s, it's all in the vein of "Here are things I think are cool! If you think they're cool too, let's get in touch!" A lot of earnestness and excitement over the possibilities of the online medium. Now, thanks to social media platforms having weaponized status-seeking psychology for the sake of making people doomscroll all day, people are far more mercenary in their interactions. All of a person's interests and friendships are curated to maximize their reach.

When people uncritically accept someone's genderspecial identity, it's not because they're taking a less cynical approach. On the contrary, for most people their "trans friend" is just another human resource. When someone says "Fuck off tranny, you look like a gorilla in a dress." they're at least willing to express their true feelings to the tranny in question, however badly it may affect them. That's immeasurably more honesty than you'll find in most of the "queer-positive" social media groups, where every word a person speaks is chosen to yield the maximum social capital.

In the edgy era of internet culture, the snark and cynicism on the surface were meant to dispel pretense and create an environment where people could engage with each other honestly. Now honesty is despised and the only worth anything has is as a status symbol. It's only fitting that a large number of the "people" on the modern Internet are actually bots.
 
New trooning, especially all the NB shit, is happening overwhelmingly in the young liberal cohort of the population. These kids aren't atheists for any reason other than the bifurcation of American culture (and America is the epicenter of this epidemic if surveys are anything to go by, Canada and the UK , despite rises in trooning in kids, do not show the absurd 30% of the population some surveys have shown in the US).

I don't think you can divorce the recent happenings from recent American political history, especially the Obama and Trump administrations. Troonism exploded out the way it did because the Trump administration made a whole ton of middle class young people steeped in the coastal elitism of their parents go insane. It's the Rolling Coal of liberalism, and just as retarded. That's also where the Atheism connection comes in, because religious identity in the US is strongly tied among whites to political affiliation. A lot of US Atheists will still claim to believe in fucking astrology and other nonsense like that "because it's scientific", because their atheism is purely a part of their particular political cult and doesn't reflect any critical though about it anymore than a Fundamentalist Mormon's beliefs do.

I can't really see how its a PL but I'd be classed as an atheist in the sense that I don't believe in the concept of "god" and I think organized religion is stupid but I don't care if it gives you a sense of happiness and peace. It wasn't until I met weirdos on the internet that people were shocked you can not believe in god/religion but not go on about it every five minutes or feel the need to pick arguments with religious people not bothering you. Or even... I know... be friends with them and say "thank you" when they do that little 'praying' thing when they say you're going through a difficult time. You don't have to be a dick to people for no reason.

edit: probably political sperging so I'll take my statue masks but they can whinge about Christianity all day but never once touch Islam. I don't like any of it. It's just hypocritical to me to watch them.

I think it's a bit more varied than that. Though they all have some desire within them to see the government do what they think is best (i.e., subsidizing their transitions), they're also willing to badmouth it in the same breath. They see it as a means to an end, rather than something to venerate. And when governments don't comply, they complain and shout their anger online. I'm likely too optimistic for my own good, but I can't see transsexuals doing anything to change what the government does or doesn't do. Like what's happening in places like Florida or Alabama. They're not going to do anything about the bills being proposed or laws being passed. And a lot of that inactivity comes from a rather nihilistic/fatalistic mindset, from what I've seen. And possibly more of a concern for themselves personally, rather than for transsexuals as a group.

So long as they can masquerade as the opposite gender online, then they'll be satisfied. There will be no demonstrations, no genuine expressions of solidarity. Only a bit of upset that'll carry on for far longer than it should.

I posted the analysis of a few surveys a few pages back. Most "LGBT" are non-religious and almost all of them are Far-left. It seems to be a social identity driven identifier.

I'm a skeptic. A member of the skeptics society actually. Skepticism as a social movement was a fad, a way a lot of people justified their ideology. People virtue signaled what good, intellectual people they were by saying "i'm a skeptic". When people could no longer consider themselves a good person and a skeptic, they dropped the skepticism.


Gender ideology depends on obscurantism. It's why the reaction is so over the top when you ask basic questions. Up until recently, nothing was being argued except ideology. That's like trying to argue christian theology with a christian. As concrete arguments get presented, the society will shred them.

Skeptics are still around, and the society is committed to giving a voice to skeptics presenting evidence based arguments silenced by other venues. They published a review of irreversible damage that had been censored.
