Honestly I hadn't even realized Will Smith's wife was screwing around on him, but I guess when your husband's claim to fame is "White people's favorite black guy" I could see how a proud, testosterone filled black woman might lose respect for him. Did this seem incredibly staged to anyone else? The reaction of every person in the room is so alien. No one does or says anything. Not a single person got out of their seat. Chris Rock's automaton-like response. Will laughing at the joke then suddenly remembering that he's supposed to be angry about niggas bad-mouthing his piece.

The Oscars have been losing viewership every year for decades, and are now resorting to WorldStar tactics to stay relevant.

People probably thought it might've been part of the act or the "bystander effect". so they stayed put Chris Rock's been doing stand up for 30+ years he knows how to roll with the punches. It probably took Will time to switch from being good humored towards the laugh joke to digesting what Chris just said then deciding to slap him.

Maybe it's staged. Slap just looked staged and I don't put it past the Oscars to stay relevant that way. But I think Will's reactions weren't too out of place. Even if he did fake it he's been pretending to think/feel something he's not on TV for 30 years so he knows how it's done.

Seriously though, why was Willard Smith the one that was crying after the slap that *he* gave, when Chris Rock barely even sold it?

Imagine being so cucked by your cheating whore scientologist wife, a wife that literally everybody who even cares enough to look into it *knows* is cheating on you, (even Chris Rock was seemingly about to make a joke about how cucked Will Smith is, but he stopped himself) that you literally commit assault on a decent comedian on a live public broadcast, just because he made a C- joke about her female pattern baldness.
