Are the Russians going to suffer the same amount of casualties as when they fought the SS military formations?

Russia stated it's purpose is to "demilitarize" Ukraine. My guess is they'll be grabbing the two separatist areas and then flattening the Ukrainian army so it's easier for more pro-Russian separatists to carve up the country.

Probably not, based on how things are currently going. Will the Ukrainians give up their guerrilla campaign as quickly as the Germans did with their Werwolf campaign?
 
Here's a question I hardly ever see asked:

What happens to the invaded country's officials? There's no way these guys are still in Ukraine right now, they have to be giving out instructions remotely from a comfy embassy somewhere else right? I have a very hard time not believing all officials in all countries are cowards and would GTFO the moment there's even a small chance of something like this happening.
