Likely from who's calling. Guaranteed a few of those calls are from party leadership and potentially the Premier's office, especially if they agreed to negotiate without letting leadership know. There's a lot of vested interest right now in both sides converting this into a win.

I don't really think it was inevitable. I would attribute it more to allowing press special privileges that the common man doesn't get. For instance, we as citizens can not simply go to a white house press conference and ask questions, or air a grievance. This is also one of the reasons why I question the modern dogma which states that Democracy is less stratified than the old feudal systems. Lords typically held court and allowed commoners to make requests or complain about things, while elected leaders treat this as only a privilege for the mouthpieces of plutocracy.

Are they even doing that, though? I'm not there, obviously, but most of what they're doing seems to amount to making a giant nuisance in the capital.
