If there is an intervention in Coutts-Sweetgrass the RCMP will be abolished in the province in the next few years. Alberta already wants its own provincial police and that would make the process irreversible.

I don't remember the details of what happened before (though IIRC he was an RCMP informant at some point so it's probable), but once he started shooting they took hours to actually find him while he was killing people and at one point two of them panicked and shot up a fire station thinking he was in there (no one died and he was dressed up in pretty accurate RCMP gear but still).

Rumor is that RCMP morale has been extremely low for the last few years. Bungling the response to the Nova Scotia shooting and watching Trudeau cheer on BLM riots did not help the morale problem. I would not be surprised if some of them say fuck it and join the truckers.

That's currently worth a rainbow right now IMO. For all I loathe the fat fucker Kenney does have a path (albeit slim) to retain the premiership, especially if the same voting crap is pulled again as during the original leadership vote. Stuff like this improves Jean's odds though as Kenney can only vacillate so much before he's forced into doing something.

The only person that was more hated in that election then Jason Kenney was Rachel Notley, which is the only reason he won. He was right from the start seen as a parachute candidate by the grassroots Wildrose members just like his predecessor Jim Prentice was a parachute candidate. Ironic, considering Jim's end. Kenney is radioactive and could let Notley back into power so the old guard has already killed him off. There is a reason Brian Jean was just given the UCP nomination for the vacant seat in Fort McMurray in November, he will be back in provincial parliament just in time for the leadership review in the fall: The Kleinites are back in charge after the death of the Redford-Kenney faction.

Actually watching the live streams from people on the ground is a complete flip from mainstream media. Just constant baseless claims. Hundreds of people recording and streaming but they cant capture a single one of these horrible violent things they claim.

Worse. RCMP informant, suspiciously delayed response, and unusually fast legislation afterwards. There’s some scuttlebutt that he may have been actually equipped and encouraged by leaf glowies as a pretext for more gun control.
