Truckers at Coutts have been in negotiations with the RCMP over various things for a few hours now. Negotiations began because the RCMP set up checkpoints and wouldn't allow anyone to come to Coutts, nor would they allow food and supplies through. Truckers were successful in convincing the cops to allow food/supplies through but the RCMP tried to make their friends and family walk to Coutts from Milk River, 12 miles away. In the freezing cold.

Eventually, however, they successfully hoodwinked the cops and have now gotten their fellow supporters in. The goal from the cops today was to enforce laws and potentially start removing trucks but none of that has happened due to the negotiations, although they might try later. They haven't yet because the negotiations are still ongoing and it seems like the truckers are now pressing their advantages even harder.
