Another idea is that war was going to happen anyway because it's no secret that China, Russia, and Iran have been trying to get off the US dollar it's better to hit now when America is in a stronger position that allows the enemy to grow, they also have to hit because the people that created this mess were propping up China to be their next playground but China is not playing ball so they're stuck with America.
This situation feels too hap-hazard to be strategic. The admin did not choose the terrain it fights upon and for whatever reason, it has a bad hand it cannot let go of.

One thing to be noted that hurts the "They are blackmailing us to help them" theory. There's been a serious lack of co-coordination between us and the Ukrainian's. Kirby is trying to hype up a Russian invasion right as they are trying to downplay it.

I work at a pharmacy and we just got the "free" masks. Three for everyone! Thanks Biden! This sure makes up for 18% inflation.

This is what happened to me and what I ended up doing. I was told my entire life growing up that college was the only path to making money, however I wasn't a retard and went through a community college and avoided taking out any loans to pay for my schooling. Fuck paying $15,000+ a year for a degree I can get done at a CC for $4000 total.
Same here. Most people choose colleges based on the party scene or sportsball that they don't even play. And most of your undergrad courses will be either reruns of high school or underwater basket weaving gender studies.
Me three. Took a year off after high school to look at colleges, said "nope, fuck that" and thought "Hmmmm, people always told me I'm good with computers....." 3 years, 1 IT school and 4 IT certs later, I'm making only a little less than the average college graduate, and with no student debt to boot!
(I took a "history of baseball" elective and it ended up being 50% about white guilt).
:stress:
If it ever does escalate to war, this country is well and truly fucked.

I'm so glad my father always told me "The world needs ditch diggers too."

THAT'S what they're putting in the strategic reserve?

You mean to tell me that that shitty looking, piece of shit, made in China mask is what is in the National Strategic Biological Response Reserve?

Goddamn it, I want to find who changed the fucking standards from where they were in the early/mid-90's when it got modernized and drown them in a puddle of piss on a private Conan: Exiles server.

Oh god, if they try anyway... Remembering the average activist on the street are pretty stupid... they know the tactic worked, but they don't know why and they don't know the greater scope of things. Imagine a few dozen activists going rogue and trying to rig elections WITHOUT the money and political capital backing them up. Imagine the DNC and the media machine trying to spin and hide THAT.

I'm sure I'm preaching to the choir, but tuition has spiked to the level it has because the schools have an infinite source of "free" money -- federally backed student loans. Students can go to school "for free" and the schools still get paid. Students can get a worthless degree that won't get them a job, and the schools still get paid. Students can end up working at Starbucks with a Masters Degree in Feminist Dance Therapy, and the schools still get paid. Yeah, sucks for the students over the next 40+ years of paying it off... but the schools still get paid. So why WOULDN'T they hike prices up to as high as the government will guarantee the loans for?

In other Bidenomics news, they are finally coming for your social mobility privacy bitcoin:

Apparently he's gonna do it via EO.

Be funny to see more Republican converts form this action.

Me personally I'm fine. I never put any money in Bitcoin.

It really depends on the major, and you're in a much better position if said major is in the section of STEM or business less infected with bullshit. I'm also debt free, but that's because I entered the game gunning for a degree that would pay for itself. More than triple your living expenses (quadruple outside a major city's inflated costs) is a sweet deal.

The Ukraine mess started back with Obama and they seem to be cut off guard when Russia actually just swept in and took their military port, so it's America's problem brought upon by its hubris and we're suffering for it.

Lack of co-coordination can be explained by them just being incompetent @Jet Fuel Johnny has written a books' worth for a bible at how retarded those in charge are when it comes to military operations, never mind bringing up their greatest hit in leaving Afghanistan.

Well if the admin were to actually kick off WW3 they'd have the good old "we need to keep the country together during this crisis" excuse behind every piece of legislation they try to push which gives cover to RINOs who accept it while everyone else is busy caring about, you know, the war.
I'm actually more in line with Mr Bunny where the Administration is going to say "Biden is such a skilled foreign relations guy" when the situation is over and Russia gets concessions out of the US.

Also I get the feeling that this is to amp up the fear because WW3 is probably the only thing scarier than "SUPER PLAGUE!'

Thinking about Ukraine and why all our politicians seem to be involved over there, I guess that it is a combination of "environment" and "legal situation." Basically Ukraine has enough corrupt bastards to cover up any and all shady business dealings while not being as backwater anywhere else.

The whole IT Cert thing is a joke. I've taken those tests before. CompTIA is the company that does all these testings and schooling (if you really want to piss money away) for the certs. A+ is the basic bitch one. Nevermind that you need to take 2 SEPERATE tests in order to get the fucking cert in the first place (and their around $200 EACH, so plus tax, that's about $500 in change, and if you fail, too bad, fuck you, pay up for another chance to take the test), whoever made that tests has no idea what really goes in in the real world.

Last time I took that test, the first immediate question they hit you with is "replace the heads of these wires with new ones, make sure the stuff inside matches the sockets inside the heads". I've been doing Level 1 & 2 IT for half a decade and can tell you that absolutely NO ONE is replacing heads or stripping wires. The IT department either buys ethernet in fucking bulk with different sizes (or they just get one standard gray/blue one) and call it a day. If one breaks, that shit is getting thrown out and replaced immediately, and if more need to be ordered, they do it from the compay's Amazon account. Another question they imediately hit you with is "hey, if by some fucking chance you wind up climbing an electric/phone pole, what wires would you use to connect that box up there to a house?" ONLY person that would need to know this is if you were working in like Verizon or some other cable provider. Then there's useless shit like "how many RPM's does a hard drive make?" or something along those lines.

You can have all the shiny pieces of paper you want, but they won't get you far if either 1. you have no idea wtf you're doing or 2. act like a miserable prick because someone dared to ask you a question. If you have the desire to learn, and help/teach people, that's what counts the most. You even wind up with benefits like connections with other supervisors from other departments or even the higher ups (if they aren't pieces of shit themselves of course).

Literally ANYONE with the will and knowledge of computers can do IT. The problem is that not only is IT one of the most under-appreciated jobs, but the bar is set so fucking high for entry that unless those certs you blew up your debit/credit card for actually work in your favor, the only other way to get in is if you know someone from the inside or do what I did and have a meeting with the IT director to prove my worth as an IT person.

Yes, 100% agree. I dunno how you wouldn't at least have some knowledge of troubleshooting common issues after getting certs. Even if you don't know the solution to a problem, that's what search engines are for. Although, you've probably met your fair share of dum-dums in your IT department.

Also this. Would not have gotten the current job I had were it not for my 6 month internship.

I wonder if the student loan forgiveness is also going to come with changes to the rules to allow for the loan cancellation amounts not being treated as ordinary income, because the present rules only allow for that under certain circumstances. If they don't, then a lot of people are going to have an eye-opening experience with six-figure income tax rates.
