There is a critical bug Nintendo did not fix for the Zelda Game & Watch. Selling Links Awakening in 2021 with this is not a good look. - Tales pre-internet

So I purchased the Zelda Game & Watch this week like a sucker. But I still wanted it and it’s so beautiful as a display piece

It’s so beautiful I don’t want to ruin it. But Nintendo, as lazily as they always handle retro stuff, forgot to patch out a bug that ruined my original Links Awakening cartridge.

I’m not going to get too detailed now, I actually plan and will record a video addressing this, and how Nintendo should be ashamed of themselves for not patching this out in 2021.

But the short story is you can do the Select Glitch in Links Awakening, on the Game & Watch.

This is a very game breaking bug, and I have seen the most awful things, glitches corruptions, in Links Awakening by doing it through my life.

People complain they didn’t include the DX colour version and that doesn’t include the Select Glitch. Maybe they really should have done that.

>wastes money on gimmicky Nintendo product with no real reason to exist these days, intentionally performs known game breaking glitch, complains when breaks game, it's all Nintendo's fault....

You guys don’t even know what you’re talking about.

The possibilities of the Select Glitch are scary. And frankly I have seen very little documentation of it’s true potential.

aaight I'ma be a party pooper and outright say what it does because most people itt prob don't know:

The original version of Link's Awakening's world is cut up into perfectly square screens, just like the first game. When you cross from one screen to the next, you can press Select to bring up your map, which locks your coordinates in place while the screen transitions to the next, placing you in those same coordinates on the next screen. So, if there are any obstacles in the way, you can easily skip them. This isn't useful on every screen, as it's very easy to get stuck in trees and softlock yourself, but, you can sequence break to a lengthy extent all around the game.

It's a lot of fun, and more or less the sole reason to play the original version.

Your first mistake was purchasing an AAA game on launch. Your second mistake was performing a known game-breaking bug.

I’ve had all three save files corrupted.

Nintendo treated MissingNo from Pokémon like a game demon, but I’ve had complete RAM corruption
you seem to be quite autistic, we arent interested in milking you unless you have more tardation to bring to the table.
Please elaborate on your life and how you got to this point.

Why not do what sane people do. Buy a $20 bootleg console on Aliexpress and tell Nintendo to go fuck themselves? I'm hoping to get my 500 games console before Christmas.
