You never know when Twitter jannies will strike.

Not quite as simple here.

There's no complete right to silence as such. The police can demand certain information and you're obligated to provide it. Best response is usually 'I don't remember'

They also have a lawful right to detain you (not arrest) if they're investigating a crime.

You don't have to answer questions that can incriminate you, but the Covid insanity has meant another layer of retardation that the cops will use against you. They can now stop anyone and demand their papers on suspicion that they're in breach of a health order. You have to identify yourself. Breaching a health order is not a criminal offense but they can still lawfully detain you and they will usually cook up some bullshit criminal charge. incitement or breach of peace, that they know won't stand but will allow them to issue bail conditions. Breach bail conditions and they will imprison you. It's perfectly possible here to go to prison for not wearing a mask depending on how much the cops have it in for you.

Currently Monia Smit, an anti-lockdown activist, is rotting away in solitary confinement for refusing to accept these kinds of bail conditions.

My experience of Victoria Police is that they're unbelievably lazy and disinterested in actual crime. I've had to report two crimes, one a fraud committed on me and another where my house was broken into. Both times I knew who did it, in the case of the break in I had CCTV footage showing the dude's face lol. The cops didn't give a fuck. I was asked to write down a statement and then I got a phone call a few weeks later telling me the 'investigation' hadn't gone anywhere. It's just how they roll, everyone knows unless there's some political push to 'clampdown' reporting property crimes to the cops is done only for the insurance claim.

Victoria Police are also famously corrupt. Almost every single Police Commissioner over the past half century has ended up resigning in disgrace. Low level links to drug dealers and so on is par for the course. My experience dealing with them, usually traffic stops, is about two thirds polite and professional with a third being rude and surly. As in 'hurry the fuck up you stupid cunt' when it took me more than 5 seconds to find my driving license. Nice.

Anyway don't fuck with them. They can and will issue a beat down and nothing will happen. The mentally ill dude who got his head stomped in and ended up in a coma? Totally appropriate use of force.
Qld cops are just as bad. I have a crack house across the road from me and have junkies lurking next to my house waiting for their ‘appointment’. Rang the cops several times as found smashed beer bottles in my carport. A few weeks ago, one of the crackheads went full crackthrottle and was laying in the middle of the street and stopping cars and asking them for a lift to the shop. His missus was being beaten inside by some other crackhead and screaming. Cops turned up 2 hours later after the show was over and just did a drive by and took off.

I was really hoping for some kind of show as there was nothing on teev...

Who knew Australia had tens of thousands of neo Nazis working in just the construction trades

Thousands of them curiously not white in their skin color

The danger of resurgent Nazism is incalculable, even the untermenschen are signing up for the stormabteilung now

Oh please. I support their and anyone else's right to protest, but cry me a river. You turn up to protest and ignore move on orders. (Whether move on orders for a protest are right or wrong is another story, but it's the law.) If you're there and choose to remain there, you should stay committed. It's not as simple as "I'm tired and want to go home."

Their problem was that they, collectively, made a tactical mistake by getting themselves boxed in on the bridge.
Citizens of a representative Republic should not be put in situations where they can make "tactical errors". A "tactical error" is something that occurs when one enemy that is trying to end the life of another enemy on the battlefield makes a mistake that increases their chances of being killed.

I would like for you to explain the tactical situation between the Government of Australia and its opposition.

Concede to my demands or I will reactivate the nazi earthquake device

Rewatched the stream capture and it looks like the crowd was moving the whole time, trying to leave the bridge -- the line of riot cops was waiting ahead of them at the bottom of the bridge to cut them off. Kinda hard to obey an order to disperse if someone's in your way.

Clip as the crowd is reaching the end of the bridge and the police line comes into view:

Clip right before the cops start firing into the crowd, instead of directing the human traffic in a more conventional fashion:

I don't have any good views from the half of the crowd that had diverted into oncoming traffic to see if any of them stopped and refused to move, unfortunately. If you've got a link, I'd be interested to see the other perspective to get a better picture of just what happened.

Eventually the crowd will figure out a few dozen stormtroopers in Robocop armor with rubber bullets and tear gas cant stop several hundred much less several thousand people

Murmurs that Dan is going to take the opportunity of his earthquake speech to announce a lockdown extension and that mandatory jabs will be extended to teachers and some other groups. If resistance doesn't pick up his victory will be total but let's we how adding more fuel to the fire works out for him

Dan is going to ban earthquakes travelling more than 5km from their epicentre.

Also Vic Pol are investigating any far right geo thermal links, the National Seismologists are major suspects.
