It's a term invented and used by marketers that realized they could use these narcissists with large follower counts to push their products. It's just so complementary that it suits the narcissists enough to embrace and use it. They aren't important, but they do have some amount of influence. Though how much exactly is hard to pin down, because there are plenty of stories of people with a huge social media following that couldn't turn it into cash. Like this chick.

What if this was actually a taliban plot that went wrong? Maybe this is their way of creating a new 9/11 kind of incident but it didn't go like they planned and the media and anyone reacted differently? The taliban, who would rather keep their hold over Afghanistan decided to just ditch the plan and keep to themselves from there.

Or maybe the two encountered a hidden taliban lair in the forests, Gabby didn't make it but her boyfriend did. And her boyfriend was too much of a pussy and maybe he's really a peace-loving hippie that he didn't even warn anyone since it might start an all new war on terror like decades ago.

Another possibility Brian is actually a taliban sleeper agent and the girl was just a poor witness who had to be silence. Or they're both in on it and are now operating in that hideout! Wyoming may see their wave of technical trucks and machete wielding mercs

hopefully the decomposition isn't too advanced so they can actually figure out what happened. i've heard decomposition has to progress quite a bit for it to be hard to determine a COD (ignoring other factors besides decomposition)

Ppl believe she most likely died on the 27th or 28th of August so it’s been like a month since she died. So going off that theory I’d imagine she’s pretty well into decomp by now (I’m not an expert though). Best bet for determining COD will probably be any damage they find to her bones.
 
Thank God Brian's still alive. I was worried the killers had gotten him to. Gabby's murderers had better watch out, I bet Brian's coming for revenge.

I wouldn't be too worried about that. Typically in cases like this, the cause of death would still pretty easy to figure out even if the body has decayed quite a bit.

If she was stabbed to death, she's gonna still have knife wounds on skin (if there's any skin left) and bones. If she was strangled, she's still gonna have marks on her throat if there's still flesh on it (same thing as above, really), and probably broken neck bones.

If she was beaten to death, or otherwise got into an accident where she fell, and hit her head, there's gonna be fractures, and broken bones consistent with that type of injury. If it was a drug overdose, they'd still find them in her system, but the toxicology reports would unfortunately be weeks away.

Even if she just straight-up died of exposure, they should be able to figure that out too due to the absence of everything else listed.

Honestly, them not being able to figure out the cause of death would be the first truly strange thing to happen in this case.
 
I've been following this and the only conclusion I can come to is everyone sucks and this will likely be another Casey Anthony where everyone knows who did it but law enforcement screwed the pooch.

I'm fairly sure the true story behind that girl with the T-Shirts was that her saying she couldn't sell 36 T-Shirts was the marketing. Just do a google for "36 T-Shirts" and look at the insane amount of traction that story got. She only promoted the product a single time before making her post and then the 'pity' story made headlines.

The FBI is also continuing its search of the Carlton Reserve in Florida for Brian today. His parents told police that he went hiking there on Tuesday last week and never returned. Weird thing is that they drove his car back from the reserve on Wednesday/Thursday but didn’t report him missing until Friday. Reserve is currently mostly flooded and gator infested. Basically swamp land.

If the cops can't find enough to pin anything on someone then that's on the cops not the person who is innocent until proven guilty.

I love how even the most liberal "abolish all police" types are out for blood if there's not enough to convict someone, they want the law changed so police have even more powers the second some shithead like this comes along and plays the system perfectly. Remember that the whole point of law is that it's better to have 10 guilty people walk than have one innocent person get jailed.

If there's no distinctive cause of death then this shit is ending up like the Trayvon-Zimmerman thing, provided that the dude doesn't snap and tell all. A case where everyone is sure that he's guilty as sin, but as there's barely any actual evidence (one word against a dead persons word) they go free.
