I saw the Bell decision being overturned and felt my heart sink a bit. I do hope Keira takes it to a higher court, because she really blew the lid on that whole operation. Helen Islan, KM, Owen Jones and the rest of the troon team have always been against her. When she first won the decision, they had declared she was responsible for the soft genocide of trans youth. To answer your question, I think it's more than just PTSD. A while back, in 2016, a US Marine published a book on how he was a notable transgender Marine. There was a story about it on Breitbart, IIRC. He had complained about Trump's stance on trans people in the military and whether they had military readiness. This guy didn't so much have PTSD - and for that extent, neither did McLaughlin - but there was a fuckton of narcissism.
From those pics you can see he didn't exactly hate his male body. But he did hate his mother. He hated how she wanted him to die as a man and erase the femininity out of him. I don't think this is a cut-and-dry case of a closeted gay man, either. I really get the impression that this was a man who desperately wanted to be female since he was born, yet liked his male body. He didn't go on puberty blockers or move in with a family member who'd be supportive. He didn't get therapy or talk to anyone about how he was feeling. He wanted to wear a woman's skin, while keeping his male power.
There is a good reason he, as an 'out and proud' transwoman, didn't fight men. That would actually prove something. He chose to fight women, so he can beat their own femininity out of them while keeping his own. These are men who sincerely hate women and yet want to become them. PTSD isn't going to cut it, no matter how much Pink News wants to spin it.

Imagine being a parent and living with your trooned out unemployed son. Every workday, you probably return home after an exhausting day of work, see your son, and become depressed as you are reminded that you invested 18+ years of your life taking care of your son, only for him to become a troon at the end.

This right here feels like a fairly astute case of linking autism and transgenderism together. A neurotypical would see something like this as a major life change and expect some sort of blowback from doing something like this, even if they think they're doing the right thing. Typically if you break up with your wife (and have friends between you all) you'll expect there might be some pushback with your friend group and enough of a tonal shift to see that something has changed. Troons instead think that telling your friends that you're a completely different human being now and will likely undergo excruciating and mood changing gender hormone therapy as if they've wore reeboks instead of nike shoes. Troonacy.

This is how you know it's a transtrender or a sad whiny little NEET, because everyone not caring is a sign that you're probably someone who's been clocked as someone who needs some help and maybe pretending to be a woman might be good. The issue is since truscum arguments aren't allowed in reddit circles, no one can talk about the possible validity of gender dysphoria in patient care.
