Yeah, from what it looks like its LotD but with local and online play, extra cards and MR5. I actually tried it for a couple of hours and i didn't like it at all. It really is a really downgraded Tag Force.
Honestly the game was a really big disappointment, even without taking into account the existance of EDOpro and YGOpro 2 (3D) it falls short of other, older games. First, the story system, while the cutscenes do exist you dont have the overworld you used to have on the tag force games which although tedious sometimes, it added variety and a break from just constant menuing, secondly the random drops are BS even more so when you can't look up from which pack you got what card meaning you have you make your own list (insane taking into account there are about 7000 cards) or look up a wiki, this is not acceptable, this was fixed on the earlier games. Adding to that, you can't speed up the duel meaning shortening the time animations take to play out making grinding all the more tedious, and again something that was present in past games. And I'll not get into the disgusting and unorganized UI especially the deck/recipe editing. It should also be taken into account that this game has existed for more than 5 years and its just now been ported onto the pc in this horrible state. All of this for the affordable and fair 20 usd asking price. What a joke.
 
Jesus fucking christ, I had such high hopes for what they'd do to bring Ra back to his former (pre-OCG) glory… How was I supposed to know they'd distribute its effects between three fucking cards and call it a day? Oh, and they STILL haven't addressed Ra's protection against card effects, which was what truly made him so fucking OP in the manga.

You are still assuming that Ra was good at all, which is not (except the Chicken Nugget Ra). Obelisk is way better.

The most important and alarming thing is that we got Meklord support. This is not a drill. What's next? Fixing Genex? This year is crazy. :story:

TBH Meklords weren't as terrible as I expected, but they still could've done away with those little demerits added like an afterthought.

Knowing Konami, probably. Specially since it's linked to a google account or Konami ID.


Back to regular TCG/OCG. It seems the Charmers SD has good reprints for the OCG and I hope we get most of those reprints too in the TCG. Getting both DRNM and Evenly would be amazing, and even if only 1 of those 2 cards makes it to the SD it's still great. Specially now that Stun Format (Eldlich, Invoker, Altergeist, Adamancipators...) is a thing now.

EDIT: So what's everyone playing right now? I'm doing some Cydra Stun in the TCG and fun Crusadia memes in Link Evolution. I might switch to HERO's so I give locals some variety (there's already one Cydra player there :story: ). I'm so glad they reprinted the Masked Heroes in TOCH. Seriously, Acid was so freaking expensive beforehand and it was kinda necessary to deal with backrow w/o Lightning Storm or loads of cosmics/trunade.

I'm not a really big fan of Konami making an incomplete structure and filling it with so-so reprints, but it's their loss so 😑
