From her website:
"The overlapping of these interests is most evident in one of my current research projects, which began with my
dissertation. This research examines how self-identified multiracial and multiethnic women navigate race as part of their online dating experiences in several urban centers in Texas; I am expanding this project by interviewing white men in Texas about their interracial dating experiences. My first publication from this project — “
Dating in the Time of #BlackLivesMatter“, which discusses the ways that multiracial women utilize social movements like Black Lives Matter as a metric of racial progressiveness that both enables them to articulate their own political positions and provides them with a means of vetting potential dating partners — is available in
Sociology of Race and Ethnicity. My
second article from this project focuses on how multiracial women frame interracial relationships and is available in the
Journal of Marriage and Family. A
third article from this project exploring the overlap of race, gender, immigrant status, and sexuality in the dating life of a trans woman respondent is forthcoming in
Sociological Inquiry."
Thank god, this important life saving research is in the best hands....even if they're covered in grease and donut icing.
