It's been kind of rainy. I slipped and fell on my ass today. I rolled my ankle. It was embarrassing. At first, I thought I was going tegain my balance then I just slipped.

When did you last fall?
Is falling for old people?

I have also been unfortunate enough to slip on ice lol. Knocked the wind out of myself and ended up with a gnarly bruise for a while. My buddy, while trying to help me, also proceeded to slip, albeit a little more gracefully than I did
I left out a funnier/pathetic part of the story. I was in a hurry because I had a flight that day. I wanted to run some errands. I had to put some stuff in a drop box. The road leading to the box was chained off and instead of parking at a reasonable location and calmly walking to the box, I left my car running at the side of the road. Not only did I fall, I was an easy target for car jackers or worse.

I made my flight. No delays, thankfully.

A few days ago I was walking my dogs in the park. There was some ice beneath the snow and one of my dogs was pulling hard and caused me to go down. Landed right on my (already) fucked knee. A group of kids saw and laughed their asses off.

Last month. My dog ran into me during one of her zoomies. Was mildly out of commission with a sprained ankle for 3 weeks. Would not recommend being half awake while your nearly 100 pound puppy is running faster than Sonic in random directions.

Ankle still hurts a bit. Also got friction burns on my knee and elbow from the concrete. Those, thankfully, have healed completely.

Every one here who has slipped, or randomly fell, work on your hip abductors. Use weight on the machine or jimmy rig a home brew method to get in some resistance training. Best way to keep from falling is to train with hip abduction using a machine (or rigged set up to work the same muscle groups,) like this:

This set up is so easy because all you have to do is sit (properly,) & spread. Over & over. It’s a great way to end a workout.
