What's certain is that it will happen soon, and that the aftermath will be different from Bob's death. Chris will be alone, with no real income (excluding the tugboat), and not even the slightest force of reason to keep his autistic escapades at bay. Sure, Barb may be a huge enabler, but her mere existence sort of anchors Chris to reality. If she keels over, Chris will probably dive even deeper into the Dimensional Merge nonsense until a social worker checks on him, a debt collector finds him or Sockness rapes him.

I think Barb's death will screw him up a lot worse than Bob's did for a couple good reasons.

For starters he's gonna be entirely alone for the first time in his life. Barb's side of the family all highly dislike her and Chris stated they aren't very fond of him either, Cole disowned him, while there's very little knowledge on Carol. He has not been in contact with David since Bob's funeral. In addition Chris doesn't have any friends that would take him in either. That's definitely gonna take a huge toll on his already poor mental health. The most company he's gonna have are the cats if he doesn't kill them and the beagles.

Next off is his financial problems. While he does show some ability to pay bills, it's very unlikely he could do that without Barb helping him because let's face it, Chris is horrible with money and has no clue on how to manage his finances. Without her, his inability to manage money will probably come to bite him in the ass due to him spending it on extremely stupid shit he doesn't even need. His debt while not quite as bad as Barb's is still bad enough he'll never completely pay it off due to only paying the minimum. Barb contributed more to the financhu crisis by blowing off the inheritance, but let's not pretend Chris doesnt contribute to the Chandler's financial problems with his frivolous spending and the "I WANT IT NOW NOW NOW!!!" mentality he has which brings up my next point, his childishness and immaturity.

It's well documented that Chris is mentally a child, so without supervision who knows what dumbassery he's gonna pull off. He's already maced people, kicked cop cars, among many other things when no one supervised him. His parents were the only thing that kept him chained somewhat from his autistic antics. Bob mostly did this when Chris got into credit card debt he put him on strict allowances, but Barb has definitely corrected Chris more than once. In fact she's the one who told Chris how retarded the attraction sign made him look. She shushes him in court too, in addition to both parents completely loathing the whole trans thing. The only reason he ever got this far into it is because Barb got tired and just gave up on stopping it.

Why did she she sush him though? If anything the babbling, messing with the fidget spinner, and chatting with "magichan" along with allowing Chris to openly talk about how he's a goddess and owes the company nothing or has coffers waiting in cwcvile would be the only defense Barb could have to say "see my manbaby can't possibly be mentally sound enough to understand what he was doing when he took out that loan"

As a defense, that wouldn't work. Chris, despite receiving the tugboat, is considered competent enough to do things like drive a car, go out in public on his own, etc. That implies enough of an adult level of capability that he can comprehend concepts like credit cards coming with payment responsibilities. He'd have to about be institutionalized or unable to care for himself at home in order for that perception to change.

Besides, Barb's his parent, and therefore legal guardian. If she did try the MUH KID'S TARDED AND SHIT defense, the first question out of the prosecution's mouth would likely be along the lines of, "so, knowing full well that you've spawned a nautist, why'd you let him go on to rack up this much debt instead of calling to cancel the card as soon as you knew he had it?"

The shushing was purely because the judge was making it very clear to her that she needed to quiet her manbaby down, right now. If the judge hadn't been openly glaring at her, based on what I saw I suspect that she'd just let him babble on like nothing was happening.

One of the funniest bits from your account was Chris’s attitude of “I don’t have to be quiet till it’s MY turn”, it’s so in line with how he treats places of business, classrooms, conventions etc. Everything is an extension of his bedroom. He borders on those sovereign citizen fuckheads, with their “muh freedoms are to be respected! But screw your freedom of not having to deal with my bullshit, because I’m way more important.”.

Contempt of court, man. They throw you in jail for disrupting court proceedings. Barb doesn't want to deal with that. Remember the account of the last time Chris got locked up?

Oh yeah that coupled with what sigspark said about it not being a fesable defense at this point unless they want to get thrown in deeper in a hole. Just goes to show how Barb and Chris really care for each other. As in barley tolerate each other anymore, Chris uses Barb to get sympathy and make excuses to stay home and unemployed (at least before the merge bs started) and she more or less uses him as meal ticket by taking half or so of the tugboat. Which in turn has made Chris build up more and more contempt for her, I bet deep down Chris is lecherously waiting for barb to keel over so he can finally blow an entire tugboat check on what he wants and not give to her, the utilities company or whatever ISP/wireless service they use.

Edit: three days after Barb's funeral

Chris: hey y'all just bout a whole bunch of stuff at Target whole monthly check all to mahself at last I feel like a free woman

He might. But it will fade after he realizes the last human contact he has is gone.

Not with the tard pain dulling shopping sprees he'll go on until the foreclosure finally boots him from the house kids are often showered with gifts when a close relative dies often to temporarily distract them.

Big difference between them and Chris aside age is eventually the parents or gaurdians have to tell the truth Chris will just deluded and spoil himself with toys and thoughts of Barb happy with Bob in cwcvile yet again

Isn't it amazing how quickly this comedy is turning into a tragedy?

Christ, I barely even follow up on Chris' antics anymore due to how depressing the whole thing's becoming.

There was only ever one direction this story was going..

From the moment Bob yelled:
“Ghaaaahhhhh... *pant.. whew, that was somethin’ else.. don’t think I pulled out in time there, Barby.. you swear you’re on the pill?”, this was bound to be a tragedy.

Barb never got married again after Bob died. Why did she never remarry? I think it is because no man would be willing to put up with her and would not be willing to live with her in branchland 14 because of how dirty and hoarded it is and because of Chris Chan also living there. And even if she somehow met a rich guy with his own house, I think barb would demand that Chris would also have to move in with the man if barb moved in with him if they got married. And no man wants someone like Chris to also move in with him along with barb. Barb never got married again after Bob died and I think that speaks volumes about Barb.

You seriously thought she' ever left the hoarde except for wrangling Chris at trials since? Bob didn't die THAT long ago.

I think you're missing the blatantly obvious fact that Barb isn't what you'd call a 'looker', and that is putting it VERY mildly.

Ask yourself this, would you like to wake up to what looks like a fish-eyed corpse every morning, with nothing to look forward to but a delusional man-baby to take care of and the sweet sweet allure of being accidentally crushed to death by tons of rubbish in the house?

I wonder if I managed to get my own autistic ass a tugboat of decent proportion if I could somehow wedge myself into 14 BC and help him sell off The Horde by becoming a roommate. Keep a small commission off of every item that sells on ebay, coach Chris on how he can sell things at market value (assuming there's anything that CAN be sold.) Then once the house is cleaned up, jet on back to my other exploits and further life plans.

That'd be funny as fuck. I'd be a useful part of Christory.

i'm very much aware of how retarded this idea is, feel free to have your laughs

Name checks out.

So it looks like Barb is probably going to survive the year, but at the same time, she's looking worse than ever.

I wouldn't put it past her to fake illness or infirmity if it meant she could dupe others into giving her money or pity, but at the same time, to be going at it for this long at the level of severity she's been at is highly unlikely.

Call it a hunch, but I would not be surprised if Barb dies in 2020 or 2021. Maybe 2022 if she's lucky or stubborn enough.

Hell, given that 2019 has been one of the most eventful, chaotic, and downright weird years for the Farms as a whole, I wouldn't be surprised if it ended with the proverbial "grand finale" of Chris's antics. I don't think it's likely that Barb will not survive 2019, but it wouldn't be that surprising if she didn't.

Christ, what if she lives to more than 90?

most likely, he will try to find someone to take him in. relatives might, but I don't know how they feel about him living with them. sadly, he will most likely will be homeless and if, god willing, he might be able to go to a group home for the m.i. the sad part is he wouldn't feel anything over her death. look at bob, he was a great person and, after his death, chris went and sold his shit that his father wanted him to keep. chris doesn't care for anyone but himself.
