Containment What will happen when Barb dies?

In all the time we've had video of Chris and his living area, he's had the neatest living area of any of the Chandlers, and has always managed to keep the Blarb Hoard out of his own personal living space (although its expansion into the bathroom is literally why the house burned down that time thanks to a frayed extension cord).
 
It's likely in the scenario that Barb dies that Chris would continue e-begging until his money ran out. I find it quite likely that Chris would either
a) Be reprimanded in some way for his massive debt
b) Fail to understand true independence, and die from either starvation or mal-nutrition

I wonder... Is it :alog: to wish for Barb to die? Or, would it be the most compassionate thing for all involved parties at this point? She definitely has nothing to look forward to, and I think the conclusion reached by all of us here is that she's always been horrible for Chris. Saying "I hope she goes soon." doesn't sting me the way it does when said about other human beings. If Chris had/has any chance of finally making something of his life, she'll have to go first. All of her threats of suicide when he'd try to leave were reason enough to want her gone. Couple that with her narcissistic mother disorder and hoarding (which literally burnt the damn house down), and I think Chris will be in a much better, healthier environment when she kicks the bucket. Who knows, Barb dying just might scare/rattle him enough into trying to support himself so he'll survive. :optimistic:

Barb has to die before Chris can start his "real" life.

I don't think Chris is substantially worse with typical life skills than your average 18 year old. It's just that he's starting out at 36 instead of 18.
 
When Barb dies, Chris will be sad and confused, and a thousand unfunny weens the world over will be laughing like a gaggle of god damn jack offs.

The only thing about Barb's death that is actually good is that his True and Honest fans will send him resources to make his loss as painless as possible. Trolls have proven on multiple occasions that we love him more than he'll ever actually realize. We love him more than Cole. Our love for him is less selfish than Barb's. Only Bob could match the purity of what we feel Chris, the funniest fucker to ever stumble his way onto the internet.
 
Chris has no friends or family other than Barb. She is it: the end of the line. He has acquaintances, but fatso from the pony thing is not allowing Chris to move in when he is staring down homelessness. Barb was the worst thing in CWC's horrible life, but she was also the best. She made him into a selfish moron with no social skills, but she also provided him with pretty much unconditional support and protection.

Chris cannot care for himself. He needs someone. Barb is less and less capable of... well.... everything, but she still is there to do things Chris is too dumb, lazy, and proud to do. Barb allowed him the life he wants. Free of stress and worry in a walled garden of happiness where playtime never ends.

Animals who spend their lives in captivity do poorly in the wild. Chris is no exception.

Barb did crazy things like the time she marched into his room and threw his toys around because he tried refusing to sleep near her. Plus the suicide threats. She's not supportive.

Most would agree that she is an unfit mother and a terrible person, but she has the deepest relationship with Chris. She always has. Chris was all she had left as well. Neither her nor Chris had anywhere else to go. Chris is not becoming a normal person and getting a 9-t0-5. That ship sailed 30 years ago. Barb could not go live with a relative. His mother basically ignoring every stupid thing he does as long as he stays with her is a type of support that will never happen again. She has emotionally and possibly physically abused Chris, but he has nothing else. He will never be "loved" in a way close to what he has now. Even with all the abuse, it does nto get better from here.

Chris has always been managed. His parents managed finances, housework, and everything else because Chris is too lazy, stupid, and entitled to do anything other than play child's toys. The decrepit old harpy keeps things normal and smooth. It is probs terrible now, but it is some semblance of normalcy for them. Chris is likely doing more now, but the nature of responsible adult able to manage a household is not in his wheelhouse.

Bob tried to get Chris money (maybe for selfish reasons), but Barb was his protector. She was closer to Chris in home movies. Bob was there, but more distant. If the death order was reserved, things would be much different now. Chris has mostly maintained the life to which he was accustomed after the "big guy."

Yes, but in a master-slave way, with Chris as the slave. Barb isn't shielding Chris from responsibility and hardship, she's skimming his tugboat and sending him on errands. Chris runs the household because Barb is forcing him to, but he's still running the household, with all the responsibilities that entails.

Chris pays his bills, runs errands, makes all the decisions. Barb doesn't control anything. She's subject to Chris, not vice versa.
 
I think she's too old and feeble to really call the shots at this point, although Chris may not realize this.
