Yeah the government soldiers are the final enemies but you fight a lot of them. Usually in group fights only the guy you are locked on to will be very active. Also on day 1 only I believe you can partake in a 1 vs 100 man battle at the foundry, when you start getting towards the end a lot of unconventional weapons will start spawning on the enemies. It's the dude who has his goons wreck the restaurant. I actually got better and can beat him somewhat consistently now.
I think I almost got to the end of one path but died to a group of military guys right before I got to their general. : (
All in all, this is a very unique game. The actual game world itself is pretty tiny, but there's still quite a bit to it and you can approach each situation differently. It's pretty clear this is an experimental title, but it's an interesting one nontheless.
Quite a bit of roleplaying potential as well. You can act like a valiant hero, a cocky asshole, or just stay silent and let your sword do the talking.
I was kinda intimidated by the "You die once, that's it." mechanic, but the game seems short enough so that failure isn't that big of a deal.
Just need to get better at parrying and dodging. Also I kinda wish that you can manually switch targets, but the enemies are pretty good about not wanting to hurt their own, so it isn't a big deal.
WotS 4 is on Steam. Decent port and fixes can be found in the steam forums for certain issues. Avoid WotS 3, though, shit port they abandoned way too early on.I also recommend the sequels if you like 1st one enough. The only one I haven't played is WOTS 4 because I never had a ps3.
is that a doom mod or a Duke3d mod i can't tell anymore,
It's a doom 2 mod. I find it stunning just how blurred this mod has made that distinction between the two.is that a doom mod or a Duke3d mod i can't tell anymore,
Is that the first wots you're playing? I remember the second and how stupidly powerful the parry system was. And beating the gang leader who drops a nodachi with an iaido moveset. It was hilariously strong but any one move put tons of stress on the blade. It's the dude who has his goons wreck the restaurant. I actually got better and can beat him somewhat consistently now.

Since the Kulve Taroth raid dropped on PC Monster Hunter I've been mostly doing that. Tried to help one of my friends beat it with just the two of us and got really really close, but neither of our builds are on meta so we didn't finish before he had to leave.
