I recently played Warioland 2 because the concept of a nonlinear platformer with lots of secret passages sounded fun.
It wasn't fun.

A demo for Get it Together dropped yesterday, along with some extra info.
  • 13 playable characters, plus potentially some extra unlockables like Pyoro and Lulu
  • A handful of multiplayer centric modes
  • Online play
As for the demo itself, I really liked it. It's only one stage consisting of a variety of games, but you get to try a bunch of the characters. The new gimmick works well for the most part. I'm looking forward to it.

The demo was quite fun but I was under the assumption the game only supports Local Play and uses the Online to share high scores and such. did I miss something ?

Leaks are all over YouTube, and reviews and fan response seem to be middling to positive. Official release is tomorrow, so we'll see then.

Been playing "Get It Together!" recently after binging on many of the older titles. Gotta say that Wario games are fun all-around and one of the few series where I don't really have any major gripes, or even a bunch of little nit-picks, that end up ruining the experience. It's very easy to pick up one of these and immediately have fun, laugh, and cheer up over the goofy shit. It's sad to me that the next one is going to rely on wiggle-waggle QTE's, but hopefully I can cheese a lot of that shit sitting on the couch like I did in the past with Madworld and those weird jerk-off lightsaber games.

@Never Scored I've had a Wario Land 3 poster out of an old gaming magazine for over 2 decades. It's got a bunch of scotch tape on it and it's wrinkled all to shit. Many people have told me to toss it but it's just too cool and nostalgic for me to do that. It's like an artifact from a bygone era, when things were better. I don't know what I'd do for another Wario Land game, maybe tear up that poster, but whatever I did, it better be a damned good Wario Land game.

Having gone through the story mode, I can verify Move It is about as good as Smooth Moves, if not a little better.
It hits pretty much every note, in terms of core gameplay and modes, at least on the single-player end. Haven't had the chance to try the multiplayer modes yet, but they look promising.

Not even a little bit. Invincibility and being a puzzle platformer ruined the series for 2 games, then they kinda improved things with WL4 but it's still a far cry from WL1.
