To get an idea of how bad things are: the Governor candidate lost, the Lieutenant Governor candidate lost, the Attorney General candidate lost and they lost one seat in the House of Representatives which effectively breaks the super majority, Democrats of course are most effected by any action the local legislature takes to weaken the executive branch positions in North Carolina's government.

The problem isn't age itself. I'd rather not just 'settle' for an arbitrary limit that functionally does nothing to stem corruption, and just push for congressional term limits. Generously assuming anyone's opinion on this in public actually matters.

Speaking of Ohio It’s interesting that Dewine hasn’t appointed anyone yet to replace Vance, wonder if there’s any sort of internal struggle going on over who he appoints. Either ways it seems like it’s not nearly as bad as the democrats’ situation there where the two leaders that are being considered to try and win the special election in 2026 are two people who have recently lost (Sherrod Brown and Tim Ryan) and the governor’s position is being considered by the minority leader apparently some lady who has failed to really do anything.

It’s like junkies, give them as much free treatment, housing and rehab programs as you want, but they will just steal your shit and break everything before doing more junk. Cut off an arm or two? Fetterman stopped short of explicitly stating whether he would vote to confirm Hegseth but left the door wide open, saying he is open to the conversation currently, according to CNN.

The Pennsylvania senator admitted he was unfamiliar with Hegseth before his nomination but said the meeting would be an opportunity to discuss key issues like military strategy and foreign policy.

“Honestly, I’d never heard of him before he was nominated. So it’s an opportunity to just have a discussion on … issues. I suspect there are some things we might agree on in terms of military, whether its China or Israel, and maybe disagree, perhaps on Ukraine,” Fetterman said. “But I think it’s an opportunity to have a conversation.”

“I’m not sure why it’d be controversial to anybody if he’s the individual who could potentially be the next secretary of defense. I’m not just a senator for Pennsylvania, for my voters or Democrats, it’s for all of us.

“That’s why I have decided to engage with people who are going to be incredibly important parts of the new administration,” he said, adding, “Those individuals can vent or rant on Twitter but I’m here to have conversations, and I think I’m just doing my job.”
