Put machine gun turrets on Mexico's southern border, it's much smaller and more economical for a proof of concept. Cutting it off there, then sending in troops into Mexico whether they agree to it or not, that's the correct thing to do (while also finishing the wall). Then we can deputize Albertans up north to run over indians with their tractors when they try to border hop.

The Days of Rage 2, that is.

I'm saying this because it's funny how much shit has flipped. What I suggested would have allowed too much to swallow for a 2003 democrat. Donald Trump, despite all the naziwashing, is the most moderate republican you can think of. And if any true believers in the trans movement exist, they would have better luck trying to soften themselves to republicans than attempt to repair the democratic party.

Trump doing that, aside from journalscum sound bytes would more likely incite some sort of assassination or coup attempt imho. There's too much vested interest in keeping illegals in the country from agriculture, food processing, and any service/construction job ever.

When that campaign finance is spent significantly back onto services they promote or support? And with the potential for untold billions if not trillions in profits for doing so? Just look at the modern entertainment industry, particularly gaming, they're willing to burn half a billion dollars trying to magic live service games into existence on the most spurious of assumptions, because if you get just one right, its an instant money printer. For some of these wealthy folks, political policy is the same.

And honestly, it doesn't even need to be profit motives, just loss adverse. Why not find a way to sink two hundred million into campaigns between you and your business buddies if its got a good chance of letting you keep illegals as a labor force, who'll work for a quarter of what the law requires. The campaign finance is a cost you can quantify now, but the wage increases from mass deportations and the sudden competition for domestic labor could easily cost you way more than the two hundred million.

No, the spending will probably only stop once it becomes a repeat pattern that certain policies will just lose on the campaign trail. Longshots and gambles are well within business sensibility, but there comes a point where even the true believer is forced to focus on more realistic goals, and threats from opportunists that just took the Trump side gamble early.
