Is Gaetz reading this thread as we speak? Lol's aside, calling them out and exposing the RINO's to their bases will only cement their reelection, Gaetz ain't losing Florida in 2024 with that attitude. And despite what everyone is yelling, it's what the founders would want. Hell, Washington wanted no parties at all, but since we're here, might as well have a bunch that need to ally with eachother, and are thus less powerful overall, than the uniparty.

Another moderate GOP lawmaker says centrists are growing "increasingly frustrated"​

A moderate House GOP lawmaker told CNN about the "increasing frustration" among centrists at the number of concessions unfolding as the House speaker stalemate continues.

“Centrists growing increasingly frustrated at bending the knee to a handful who never wanted to be in the majority in the first place,” this lawmaker said.

Asked if the moderates/centrists can stomach this rules package if Kevin McCarthy gets his wish, the lawmaker said, “Depends what else is in it. I think as it is now, it’ll pass. But … if they get a single gavel as part of whatever deal is struck, it will all unravel.”

Nah this is the party known for losing with dignity and principles. They’ll just say that compromising with the Democrats means socialism so it’s better just to lose to the Democrats. Also the Freedom Caucus is a bunch of Nazis so I guess the GOP has no choice but to forfeit the Speakership in order to maintain their commitment to the free market and Israel.

Crenshaw appeals to the boomercons who feel that being a military vet automatically makes anyone qualified for any role. Once you become an incumbent long enough, you stick around barring major changes like demographics, redistricting, or a scandal. So Cuckshaw will be around for a while.

They’re not centrists. In order to be a centrist, you have to hold the average person’s political views. The Freedom Caucus are infinitely more centrist than the neocon globalist members.
 
What did Crenshaw run on anyways? I'm a huge political junkie so I generally follow senate races pretty closely but I am legitimately drawing a blank on anything regarding his campaign or platform.

Funny this should get mentioned because that's what Gaetz effectively said to reporters:
Either McCarthy "withdraws from the race", he says, or Republicans will "construct a straitjacket" McCarthy is unable to escape, essentially stripping his powers as Speaker.

The Freedom Caucus will vote for McCarthy, should he be willing to be little more than a figurehead and roll caller. You got to love to see it.

If that is the plan then they should wait until McCarthy staff has to move the office furniture out of the speakers office so they just have to move it back.
 
So... I know the Freedom Caucus is having their fun and all, but is there any legal repercussions from simply just sitting on their hands and NOT voting for McCarthy, no matter what? What are the odds that the Dems get their own speaker elected instead? Or for lulz, a non-uniparty pick?

The beauty of it is that no other House business can be attended to until this is resolved. Which is why every fucking member has their ass in their seats for the first time in years. Notice no one is “working from home” right now? They need to vote in person and no side can afford to lose a single one.

This is making the worst people in the world miserable, and putting on a funny show.
