I just want to see this continue to Friday although some McCarthy supporters may try to compare the Representatives voting to the 1/6 protesters for maximum political points.
I don't want congress deadlocked. I want them to push back agendas that are shit and embracing instead of restricting rights.
That's not an option so I'll take gridlock.

And then have journalists writing think pieces where they will still compare January 6th to 9/11 or any other national tragedy for their “side“ to benefit. It may be fun for us, but for these people, they will still try to hammer down the Message™ for people to not step out of line.

Just for the current Fox News sperg fest of the night, Hannity is having a meltdown in his "interview" of Laruen Bobert. I haven't seen a grown man shit himself this hard for a while.

The Republican Party needs a massive overhaul. They had everything going for them with Biden’s low approval ratings and they fucked it up.

Purge the whole party, because otherwise they deserve the assbeating they’re getting.

A skilled conniving plotter he is not. It is amazing he was ever considered a viable political leader in the first place. Then again that was probably decided by some backroom dealings and not by any actual proof of competence.
It is fairly common for one leader of congress to be dominated by their counterpart in the other. Its why Schumer was such a lapdog for Pelosi. Hell, Schumer would be sweating bullets if McConnel had not decided fuck it and gone full GOPe so he is carrying water for him.

McCarthy was and is the puppet of McConnell... the problem is that McConnel cannot help him drum up support here. The Freedom Caucus thinks he's a Judas with damn good reason.

I know it's British but the BBC is contradicting you right now. Looks like they'll vote to adjourn.
Well not the worst thing in the world, I would've figured they'd feel like they accomplished enough with that, but if they're continuing on to help get control of a committee or whatever then good for them.

But it still does sound like they're getting a major win if I'm interpreting this business with the primary funding right.

I'm going to burst your bubble, its scraps thrown to the dog. The two pacs in question make up barely anything of the actual fund the speaker controls for house races. Its symbolic at best that he -totally- will not use other funds as well, wink wink, nudge nudge, "trust me".

Jefferies is a fucking retard. I have no idea why the left wants him climbing the ranks outside of the fact that he is again a retard. He was given a prominent speaking role in impeachment #1 and could not even read from the pages in front of him.
Retards are easy to control and puppet, they will always agree with their master(s), just look at your president.

I get so much shit for it when I don't thank military/LEO/ first responders for their service despite being one myself. Just because you're in any organization does not make you a better person. But that nuance is lost on brain dead voters.
The majority of vets who leave the service and try to enter politics are the same assholes who chased medals and made everyone around them fucking miserable.

I would pay taxpayer dollars to see politicians do wrestling matches often.
So would I. Listen I'm a Roman-Greco wrestler man. You wanna be on bottom? That's where you want to be, I'm sure. Now getting them to not look like the gunt and like actual humans below is a different story entirely.

I wouldn't be surprised if they just changed their minds the second they got voted in (I have altered the deal, pray I do not alter it more). What's to stop them from changing the rules of the house to a majority vote for new speaker after they vote him in? Either that, or what Gehenna said will happen.

Gatez and co's only leverage is to get a speaker both favorable to the freedom caucus and the GOPe, and it seems that it is not possible right now.

No such mythical person exists, the point here is to get him to make some overt and explicit promises. Anything outright said will be upheld because not doing so would do way more damage than good to the GOPe.

The GOPe works off a series of handshakes and agreements, being known for going back on your word -even against the enemy- makes everyone leerier to deal with you. But the GOPe understands the difference between an implied promise which can be revoked at any time and an explicit promise which must be upheld.

Now we wait to see if the Freedom Caucus understands the difference.

Update on the Hannity sperg out. Bobert interview went terrible, he was just yelling over her the entire time, asking the same questions and acting like a clueless retard. Next we move onto the panel with Mike Huckabee and Jason Chaffetz. The Moment Jason suggests that they'd they might need to pick another guy/ coalition to, you know, get the votes, Huck lashes out, and says "That's absurd". My sides. When we get the clips from tonight, oh boy, i will share them... i was genuinely laughing.

I'm aware of efforts in at least one state where MAGA are taking over the internal party structure. It'll take years, but they're working on it. So far this group is succeeding at their early goals and I suspect in all solid red states people are at least attempting similar stuff.
sorry about the "dude trust me", but dude, trust me. I really can't be specific

Its easy to talk about the Republicans being the Taliban 20 and feuding with McCarthy but there's another game going on here. He's not the baby boomer Bipartisan Hero he imagined himself to be when he was moving his stuff into the Speaker's room. I think McCarthy was confident he'd have received at least one vote from a democrat, if not on the first ballot, than at least by now. They've totally stiffed him on adjournments that he wanted and on the vote 6 times. 6 votes, its all Jeffries. Democrats don't want him as speaker, either.

I've had a technology magazine accost my house for years. I've never managed to make it all the way through one. The game I play with it is how many pages I can get into it before it starts oinking about WIMMIN ARE OPPRESSED, intersectionality, diversity-equity-inclusion, RAYSIZZUM, Pee Oh See, biases, bigotry, you know important tech stuff. It's rarely more than three pages. This month there was an article about China stealing technology, being a bad-faith actor in international affairs, all sorts of stuff. I blinked a few times, because while that's still politisperging that's barely tech-related, it's not taking the usual far-leftist talking points about Asian Hate, Ethnocentrism, Xenophobia, blaaaaah blah blah blah. This lasted until I reached the next article, which was a different writer ALSO bitching about China. "Ah", I realized. "My suspicions were correct. This isn't a genuine human being researching a topic and informing the public based on an understanding he gained about a subject. This is a coordinated CURRENT THING BAD leftist propaganda push, like it always is." It's a sad state of affairs when you read a series of true statements but still know it's lefty journos being lefties and broadcasting the Weekly Hivemind Update.
