Something people might not have noticed but the house leader vote was very close (within 6 I believe) and what Macarthy and McConnel did was to jeopardise a certain majority in both houses to cling onto power. If this is their attitude, why bother propping the house up?

Rulers of modern republics are much like those kings of the past who would try to legitimize their rule by claiming to be descended from some ancient figure. Commonly individuals of history have their names or works invoked in a certain lens in order to justify some modern agenda or goal. Politicians in most cases don't actually care about these people, only that they are relatively admired and are seen as "good" or "great" so they hope by association they will be perceived the same way as well.

If that doesn't work they will just find some obscure individual and elevate them to some level of importance to make a hero anew in the pursuit of an ulterior objective.

Kind of funny how quickly Crenshaw spread his legs for that bag of silver. As for Kingzinger I cannot wait until he is gone. He is never getting back in. I think that he deeply believed if he worked with the Dems he would end up ok after getting bounced from office but he is too weak, too unpopular, and too fucking stupid to be of any real use.

He might get the occasional fifteen seconds on MSNBC but that is about the cap and that is assuming he does not get buried in some kind of Jan 6th Committee audit.

People like Kinzinger and Crenshaw just want the grift to continue forever. People like Gaetz want to burn it down if it cannot be fixed and they forged his steel in their attempts to get him to cow with bullshit allegations that have still yet to result in one single charge against him. While I think Gaetz is kind of a jackass and some kind of Kennedy/Nixon clone experiment he is one of the few people in DC that I think might actually have a clue.

So Trump has fully recinded his support of McCarthy and is suggesting Donalds as a repacement. Looks like McCarthy might not get his seat unless he goes to the Dems for support, and takes the mask off of the Uniparty by doing so.
 
Hilariously with every failed vote McCarthy shows he is unqualified for this role. Part of the Speaker’s role is to whip votes, and not bring them to the floor unless he has them. Remember how many times Nancy would just sit on things until she knew she had worked out enough deals/twisted enough arms?

Trump appears to be trying to just read the room the best he can and support the right person accordingly. Earlier he supported McCarthy, then didn't, then did again and now he isn't again. Guess he thought supporting McCarthy while the Freedom Caucus is still holding out would be a bad move.

I don't particularly. What I want is the for the war to be brought to an end and the sanctions lifted. Energy prices have near tripled for me.

A determined band of Republicans are playing hardball. They refuse to support Kevin McCarthy for Speaker of The House. McCarthy, who is a status-quo supporter of the Deep State Globalist Swamp, struck out three times yesterday. He could not muster the necessary votes from his own party. Let’s hope this continues today. We need to take stand and refuse to go along with uni-party politicians who are destroying the country and our rights.



President Trump needs to renounce McCarthy. Trump did his best to work within the system during his first term. As a result, he was backstabbed and the Swamp did not get drained. To drain the Swamp, we need the MAGA-minded in control of the House and maybe in two more years, the Senate as well.



This morning Trump endorsed McCarthy.

Exactly. If this limp dick RINO can't even get the role without going through this many failed votes, it's not likely he would be effective at all in corralling the house to whip votes, anything he did get passed would just be something the Uniparty masters passed down to him to front as his own initiative or something he'd be told to support. Our government is fundamentally broken to its core at this point - neither major political party actually works to represent the voters anymore, rather they view themselves as our wise masters, and dictate their will to us. Better to burn the whole thing down and start new, and if having to deal with a few years of some loudmouthed ineffective turbonigger like Hakeem as speaker is the entry price, so be it. At least we know he probably won't get anything done.
