Edit to explain: The GOP will be working hard to split the party in two. You already saw it post 2022 blaming the under performance on Trump. They'll continue that, try forcing through underhand means a candidate over Trump's popularity, or mask off try and deny Trump their ticket. They probably won't go so far in actually cheating him out of it, but they may. Either they upset Trump supporters into staying home for stealing his nomination, or they convince the part of the party that doesn't like Trump that they were denied a true and honest candidate. Either way, a big enough chunk of the party is upset enough to stay home so that they don't have to cheat as much.

while true that's just a numbers game. it's like a gameshow with 3 doors, the moment you open door number one your odds of winning go up to 50% (2 doors left). so after a collapse the chances someone competent will end up in charge is better than before, but not 100%. and as things go nothing says the first speds won't be replaced inevitably, either when they make shit worse (and people already have a short fuse) or a smarter successor takes the reigns.

I think it'll be 2030 when the American Empire collapses into a rump North American state. Another 4 years of Uniparty--but Democrat specifically--rule will render America irrelevant on the world stage.
