I still think the coming backlash may overwhelm Republicans across the country. If the purpose of a system is what it does, then we can say the purpose of an action is what follows. What will people remember as having been the purpose of these actions three years from now? You can bask in the sunlight now, but further ahead one may watch the storm clouds brewing.

500 Marines are on standby to be deployed in Los Angeles: USNORTHCOM​

By the direction of Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth and in coordination with U.S. Northern Command, there are 500 Marines on "prepared to deploy status" to the Los Angeles immigration protests.

There are approximately 300 members of the California National Guard currently deployed to Los Angeles County, officials said.
