Anyone played Riders Republic? It was recommended to me and I can buy a key for about 5 dollars.
It is peak Ubislop. Just watch this video
The TL;DR is that it is the lamest attempt to take lunch money from retarded kids I have ever seen, it is not a sports game let alone an extreme sports game. Find yourself a used 6th/7th gen disc or buy something from Steam if you really want to spend that $5. Something like PURE is much better.

Open-world busywork simulator WITH microtransactions. Ubisoft was one of the first game devs to go all in on mtx after EA.
I'm just glad BG&E2 remains trapped in development purgatory. Based on what little they ever bothered to show it looked like it was going to be the worst of every Ubisoft excess.

Noted and thank you. I sub to that channel, but I don't recall that particular video.

i got the ubisoft star wars game on discount. my early impressions so far is similar to many other ubisoft titles: not terrible not great just kinda mid. their attempts to appeal to the most amount of people lead it to that place and they wont learn from their mistakes until its too late, and thats if they do recognize them in the first place

It genuinely kills me that seemingly nobody in the whole fucking industry can make a proper bounty hunting Star Wars game.

You'd think after the brief success of the first season of the Mandalorian, some gigabrain MBA would have stumbled upon the fact that people want to play a Boba Fett type of character.

And the whole thing basically designs itself.

You gain money and beskar by completing bounties, and then can use beskar to improve your mando equipment, and can use the money to purchase weapons, equipment, ship and droid upgrades.

Do the whole RPG thing by letting the player specialize in stealth, ranged weapons like blaster and slug throwers, explosives, melee weapons ala vibroblades, let them decide what kind of armor they want to wear (light, medium, heavy), whether they want to take a jetpack, flamethrower, grappling hook etc. with them.

Then just let them travel to a few planets (open world maps) like you had in Jedi Survivor to hunt bounties, complete local quests, discover stuff etc. Maybe add a bunch of companions you can assemble, like a droid you can customize/upgrade, a slicer, pilot et al so you can assemble a motley crew of outcasts.

The real kicker is that Ubisoft could have recycled much of the AssCreed formula and systems when making such a game. They don't even need to invent an excuse for the "special sense"/scan these games have, the mando helmets are the perfect justification to have all manner of visual overlays and not feel out of place.

And yes, it's this fucking easy to make a compelling Star Wars game, but neither Disney, nor any liberal cuck in the gaming industry has the necessary IQ to get people to throw money at them.
